I am deeply saddened of what is happening in my country now. Though my family's residence is far from the area affected by the tsunami. I am living in Korea right now but when I heard the news, I called my mom immediately. I was worried because I couldn't reach any of my family members by phone. I just waited until my older brother reached me through skype. He said it was a very big earthquake, it was the most powerful quake he'd ever experience since we were young. I understood my brother well since earthquakes are common in Japan. I was relieved that my family is fine. But still my heart is breaking since I can't do anything for my fellow Japanese but to pray. I had friends living in Fukushima. I'm worried about their current condition. Japan's current situation is really heartbreaking. I really want to go home but, what can I do to help? God bless Japan! Nihon, yuuki o dashite!

I feel the same, I wish I could help in some way, I feel so much for these people..I was so worried yesterday I actually went to my local Milk bar run by a lovely Chinese couple and they have a computer for their own nuse in the shop, I asked them just how close China was to Japan as I have no idea about that sort of thing, they showed me where they came from and how close Japan is, it is all so scary...I wish I could hire a big plane and bring them all out.. it is all devastating to watch,.

Hi lilaclady. China to Japan is about 3 to 4 by airplane, it's not that far. I agree it really breaks my heart watching all of those pictures and videos on the internet.

prayer is indeed the best way to help japan. don't worry about that too much, just trust God. Maybe this is a wake up call for every japanese to cling on to God, and for the world also to prepare for the worst calamity and to strengthen their faith. where's ur family? i have an aunt there. it's good they are far from fukushima, she's living in nagoya. my boss is in shizuoka, is that far from fukushima? will they be affected by the radiation/ i haven't been reading much news recently...

Prayer really is what we need to do now. It really is tragic. Japan is one of the most prepared countries for these kind of things but this is just too much. I mean things are getting worst each day. The quake was hard enough but it was followed by a tsunami and now the problem with radiation is posing a big threat. I just hope that things get better soon.

Hi jhaidro! We are really used to experience earthquakes because it happens daily sometimes but not as strong as the one which hit recently. I was an elementary student when the Kobe earthquake occurred. I could still remember how strong it was. Japan has advanced technology and good warning systems, but when nature strikes hard, we really felt helpless. I couldn't do anything more than to offer my prayers to the people of Japan. Thank you for your prayers too.

sachii, as far as the students in the Philippines are concerned, there were so many who exerted effort to raise funds for Japan. And I think they gathered pretty much and sent the funds and goods through the task force for Japan.
I am really saddened by the devastation, and yes, we are praying that Japan recovers soon. The Fukushima fifty is very admirable. And the Japanese, you showed the world grace and spirit.

hi sachii315, you should pray for their safety. Call them and make them feel better.

For now, the best that I can do for them is offer prayers for their continous safety. May they survive all this in the grace of our Almighty Lord. I also have friends there and I keep our communication open so I can comfort them everytime they're afraid of the aftershocks.God bless Japan and all the people there.

Well prayer is one thing that will help Japan and also donating if you can.Red Cross and many other places are accepting money to help Japan.Even on Youtube some youtubers are raising money by dancing.singing etc.I wish there was some way i could donate clothes.I have hundreds of big sweaters that would keep anyone warm.
