So Dearra has a new teen magazine, Girl's Life, I think. And she was reading it this morning, and she sees a poll on there. "You're at a shoe store, and you see those shoes you love are finally on sale. But all they have left is an eye popping pea green. Do you: 1. Buy the shoes (you will make them work with your wardrobe somehow) 2. Put up a Facebook poll (while hanging on to the shoes for dear life) 3. Call your BFF (after all, she knows your wardrobe better than you do)" Begin rant. OMG, if you don't like the color, just don't buy the shoes. They don't even give that as an option. How stupid is that... She gets going... bla bla bla stupid bla bla bla girly girls bla bla bla is that all teenage girls think about bla bla bla I love teenagers. They let you know!!!

I love Dearra, she is so smart and level headed. She reminds me of how my daughter was at that age. It is nice to look nice, and have new things, but you do not have to be stupid about it.

I really wish I had the backbone, in retrospect, that my daughter, and Dearra have. Samantha did worry and get anxious about stuff, but about things that mattered she was great.

I wish I had her sense of what's right, what's stupid, etc. Her clarity, I guess...

Great logic ! I think also that the poll is stupid and I am not a teen.

Too often I see polls or survey questions, and none of the options cover my answer...

Probably depends on the material they're made out of. Never thought of that!

I do too! They don't mince feelings or anything. They seem to know life is too short. And, they do tend to go off once you can get them to speak up. Know what I mean? And I agree about the stupid poll. Makes you out to be either stupid or stupider yet. Gheez! and bla bla bla dumb to fill in some room here. Hehe

yeah why not just have a poll with three choices: I'm stupid I'm stupid I'm really stupid and shallow

Or, just to be different, how about: I'm shallow I'm shallower I'm even shallower still ? ? ? ?

I think Girl's Life needs to hire Dearra as its producer/director/editor. Maybe the magazine would do a lot better in sales. And I'm with Dearra, who would buy pea green shoes? Better...who would make them?

If you loved the shoes so much that you'd consider buying a color you don't really want, then I'd have to assume you'd consider buying them prior to them going on sale! Yeah.. teenage girly girls.. pfft!

Hey dawny! Wow! Your daughter is more grownup than some adults (meaning me). I might have bought the damn ugly pea green shoes, if I loved them even though I hate pea green and would have almost nothing to wear with them! I guess some of us never do grow up. Lucky for you Dearra is one of "those" who actually "thinks first" and "reasons"! Shame on me!

Well you could always go out and buy yourself something to go with them. Unless you really HATE pea green, that is.

So funny! She's got good common sense - I love the way she thinks because I was thinking the same thing!! I wish my father was more understanding of teenage rants like that . . . I always got in trouble for making blah blah blah comments - seriously. If the shoes I loved finally went on sale, most likely they wouldn't have my size anymore!!!

She does have very good common sense. Even when she's at her loudest, it's hard to disagree with her!

Sounds like an internet survey. They always leave out answers I want. If you leave it blank the want you to lie.(HA,HA) I'm with just don't buy the shoes. Of course, I'm not teen anymore. They probably would by the shoes and then need a new outfit to match.

I'm with Dearra! I wouldn't buy the shoes. The moment I saw the shoes and they were too expensive I would have just walked away and got shoes that were affordable. I never was into having 50 pairs of shoes. More like 12.And as for let you know. I would tell my family way before I was a teen.

And that poll doesn't even take into account that someone might actually WANT them in eye popping pea green... though how pea green can be eye popping, I'm not sure... I did a survey yesterday that had as one of its questions "Do you take your makeup off before you go to bed?" The answer options were "Yes" and "No". Period. No "I don't wear makeup." How do you answer that one? Yes and you're lying, no and they think you're a slob... How can you take something off that isn't there?

It almost seems like they want one of the three options because most polls do not have an option for other. Teenagers can be very vocal and to a sense that is good, especially with silly polls. lol

Yeah they want to prove how silly and shallow teenage girls are.
