Hi, it is really hard to cope when a baby is sick. Because babies cant talk and say what/how they feel. You just have to be there for them and try to understand how they feel. If your husband's w/ you, try to do shiftings. You can sleep while your husband if looking after the baby, then vice versa. This way you can rest even for a while and look after your sick baby too. I hope she gets well asap :)

For the colds, i put eucalyptus oil in my baby's dress where my baby can smell it. It opens clog nose and helps them breathe. Let your baby drink a lot of water and other liquids plus drink vitamin C.

I don't know how to do because i haven't get married and of course don't have a child. But i can't totally understand your anxiety, i still remember my mother's anxious when i got sick in my childhood. So i wish your daughter could recover quickly. But take good care of yourself at first. Good Luck!

Hi, I can fully understand how you feel when there is sick child at home. Being a mother, we have to takecare of them especially at night time. we have to wake up and monitor their condition. When my son fall sick, I will have a sleepless night too especially when there is a fever. I have to wake up every hour to monitor his body temperature and fever normally will strike higher when comes to midnight. Have to feed him medicine and make sure he feel better and comfortable and can get back to his sleep to get a full rest. You have to takecare of yourself, drink more water and take some vitamins to strengthen your immune system. Bring your daughter to a doctor if there is no recovery sign after 2 days of home medication. Let her drink more fluid and don't bath her at this moment till she is fully recovered. If you were sleeping at airon room, set low on the temperature. During day time, open up the window to have air ventilation. At night, apply vicks on her leg and put on socks to keep her warm.Do apply vicks on her back and chest. It does help. Do monitor her body temperature to see any fever develops. Takecare and hope speedy recovery for your daughter !!

Yeah you are right, indeed motherhood is a noble calling. The baby is doing better, we brought her to the doctor last week, and give us some medicine to take for her, and feel relieve when we don't have to let her drink some more medicines the following day. We had tried vicks also at night when we don't have the prescribe medicine and it helps, my husband put it on her.. thanks.

Awwh so sorry to hear about your baby being sick and keeping you awake. I do remember these days oh so well. It is very difficult for the parent who has to tend to the baby and at the same time we worry so much because the baby is ill. I remember not being able to rest because each time I tried the baby kept me awake. What I tried doing was had a comfy recliner in the babies room so I was near by and while baby slept I tried to sleep also. As the baby got older I bought the monitors so I could hear the baby in my room. It was at the times that the baby was sick that many of the household duties still had to be tended to so I tried really hard to nap if baby napped, otherwise I would end up sick too. Place a nice warm tight compress on your forehead to relieve the pressure and have some tea. I hope you both start feeling better very soon.

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter. Is she better now? I have not had baby but I know that mother must stay up late and to worry very much when the baby is sick. Try by yourself. I believe that she'll well soon.

Hello Kheydia... how is your baby now? I hope that she is better now . I did just like you. Having babies is not so easy. It may be a little hard until they reach the 5 years old. Rest as much as you can when she got asleep, drink a lot of pure water, that will help you feel better. Blessings!... Dainy

Hi kheydia, welcome to intricacies of being a mother! When my son too falls sick with colds, all I can do is keep his nose hydrated with a sterile saline solution that helps him to breathe evenly and just sit up holding him in my arms as long as possible. Once I get tired and my hands go numb, its on to my husband! Just put a few drops of a nasal saline solution, here we get a product called as Nasomist, and try to lay her down with her head elevated on a soft pillow. This way, her nose won't get congested much and will help her sleep better. Also, spraying a little Eucalyptus oil on her pillow will help with the cold. If she is still unable to sleep on her own, rest her head on your shoulder while you rest your on a pile of propped up pillows! In this position, you may able to catch a few winks as well.
