Some people say that parents are the best teachers where as some don't agree.Throughout my life, i have been lucky enough to have a very good relationship with my parents. They have supported me, given me necessary criticism, and taught me a great deal about how to live my life. Parents can be very important teachers in our lives; how ever, they are not always the best teachers.
What do you say?

For me Parents must lead by example and that example translates to teaching. Not all parents are good at teaching but some truly are.
There is no such things don't do it and as the parent do the things you say not to. Example is the key to learning in my opinion.

I am not so clear about what you are saying. I think the most important thing to realize is that we all have many teachers in our live. Our parents teach us, our teachers teach us and our peers teach us. Boos and newspapers and television also teach us. All of them are valuable.

When I say parents lead by example is that a father or mother should not do bad things like swear, heavy drinking and abuse; then expect the child not to do the same. The example means if we have parents who show good examples always then their actions teach the children.
So you see it means the same things you state in your discussion. There are good teaching parents and their are bad teaching parents so my response translates the same.
Best example is when a father drinks heavy he cannot say to his teenage son drinking is not good for you because he has shown his child that he does it so the child always believes that the father must be wrong because the father is still alive.
When parents say don't do this or that they must look at their actions too. So my response reinforces exactly what you say in your discussion. Some good and some not so good.

They provide the best start in life. But as far as all the subjects are concerned there are experts in each field and we can't expect our parents to do as good a job as them as they are not as well qualified.Take our own example though we can provide several principles in life we can't be excellent in all fields as we aren't equipped to be so.But it is the facilities they provide and the start they give in life for which we have much to thank them for.

Yea what you say is also a one good reason and I support what you say. What about following? Do you think you can agree with them?
Parents are usually eaget to pass on their values to their children. But should children always believe what their parents do? May be different generations need different ways of thinking. When children are young, they believe that their parents are always right. But when they get older, they realize there are other views. Some times parents, especially older ones, can't keep up with rapid socail or technology changes. A student who has friends of all different races and backgrounds at school may find that their parents don't really understand or value the digital revolution. Some time kids have to find their own ways to what they believe in.

I would rather put it that parents are the first teachers. We will have many teachers along life's journey. They will be of different backgrounds, color and creed. But they will help shape our life.

There I can think of some examples where parents aren't necessarily the best teachers in a person's life, but I really believe that they should be. The reason that I feel this way is because of the fact that the parents are the first teachers that people have in their lives. Because of that, I think that parents are the most important teachers that people have, but they aren't always the best teachers that people have.

I agree with you. They start teaching from birth of a child and continues through out his life.

I definitely say that parents are the best teachers. It is so because when we are young, we spent most of our time with them. The way they behave, react and express makes a big impression upon us. Also, parents will never try to teach us bad things. They make sure that we learn useful things. They criticize us where necessary and encourage us when required.
