I have arguing with my roomates that I feel that animals have souls. One of the reasons that I feel that only God put things on earth that only have life. Many people think that they can't choose good and evil. How they say that or think that because if they say? If the mentally ill they can't pick and choose good and evil while on earth.

Animal are living being but they have instinct;s and we do not. Their behaviour is inbred in them. Therefore whereas we can think and reason animals cannot. WE both humans and animals are carbon based lifeforms, but we are not animals.
Test. Would you feel right about eating another human, especially if you feel he is inferior to you? Would you enslave or make another human who you feel is he offensive color, rac,e or religion work for nothing? You see, when you see humans are animals, then you put them in a horrible predicament. You make it possible for evil people to justify their ill treatment such as cannibalism or enslavement of them.
We have an immortal soul, but we also think and reason. Animals have something different, but there may be a different name for it.

I do think we are treading on dangerous ground. Animals do not think like humans. We have to be taught by our parents whereas animals do things because they do not have the thinking ability. Wold you ask a cat or a dog to do a comp;lexc problem? And could the animal think it for itself? You give humans a comp;lec problem and thier brain starts figuring out the idea, but with animals, if you want them to count, you have to show them step by step and they do not understand. They will press their paws six times not because they are thinking "well pressing my paws mean six times." and that means six. The animal will think "want treat, pat" press paw again, press paw again, etc."
We had a dog and even though she was given to us when she was way too young, and we sort of spoiled her, she acted like a dog. She barked at other dogs, made her mark on trees and fire hydrants, sniffed, etc. She did not engage us in conversation, etc.

I too believe that animals have souls... As rightly pointed out by some of friends that we are the highest form of animal, when we humans have soul then animals do have soul..
An interesting topic to discuss with. Thanks for putting focus on:-)
Have a great day!!!

if souls exist then animals definitely have them. us included.
after all, we're animals too.
all living things have a soul. and I've experienced both human and animal spirits.
I have absolutely no doubt in the core of my very being that animals have souls. or how could I claim to have one myself.

If you can believe in the life force and that it is the same for all things then you will know that the soul is just another name for this force that is the base
of all.
