Barcelona and Inter have got easy ties in the Champions League quarter finals with Inter drawing Schalke while Barca face Shaktar Donetsk. In the two marquee clashes we have Tottenham taking on Real Madrid while Chelsea and Man U have been paired in what could be a massive clash for both the clubs? What do you say about this draw? Cheers! Ram

It's certainly an interesting draw although I don't generally like to see two teams from the same nation playing against each other. I'm not sure Barcelona and Inter have got easy ties like you mention maybe on paper they're teams which look generally weaker but ultimately both of those sides have dangerous players and have earned the right to progress to this stage which instantly tells fans to not underestimate them, I do think we'll have a shock in at least one of those two ties . As for Manchester United against Chelsea well I see United's run in the champions league ending with them unfortunately crashing out certainly will be a tough game and I'm sure it won't be one which is easy on the eye with both sides cancelling each other out. Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur is an interesting clash I think Spurs can spring another surprise in this match with them claiming a historic victory . ,

BTW, the dampener for Schalke is that their coach has just been sacked. So it remains to be seen how the new coach moulds the team. Cheers! Ram

I think Schalke are a good side which also this year has the benefit of Raul who has experience of winning the competition with success on three occasions which can only benefit them. Although Barcelona are big favourites for the Shaktar game I also think they could very easily be shocked by them as they've got some natural attacking talent and it wouldn't be such a big surprise for me if Barca get dumped out of the competition. In regards to Chelsea although their league aspirations appear to be gone both manager and the squad know it's still possible to win the league so I think they'll make the mistake of focussing on both competitions equally. So I think it depends on where their focus turns to by the time of the United tie although I see them beating United. The spurs game I think Rednapp at least in one of the legs will all for an open and an attacking game with their teams bes qualities this year being noted as their attacking quality. Don't let such a thing fool you though as their defence is quite strong as well which only allows them to be so offensive so I think such a tie will be down to how each team's defence is playing. I certainly think there's going to be a number of shock results in the next round of games and in the interest of keeping football entertaining I hope a few at least happen .

Seriously I never heard that, that's a big mistake in my opinion I know they're not doing well in the league but he's brought them to a cup final and now quite a far stage of the champions league for a team of Schalkes reputation . I now don't see them making any kind of upset I believe the team will be slightly deflated by a new coach as they've had some success in cup competitions .

I imagine United v Chelsea will be a bad tempered affair. My head says Chelsea, but I heart wants United. I don't like J.T, fat Frank or very many of the Chelsea players, so to see them celebrate if they knock United out will kill me. It's a shame that Barca and Real can't meet up in the final, that would have been brilliant, never mind, I hoping for a Schalke V Shaktar final.

Actually Ancellotti has already started some mind games by actually coming in support of Sir Alex in his touchline ban issue. It might be interesting to see how it reflects on the field. Cheers! Ram

Actually this season I expect it to be different. The reason is because Man U defensive line is completely decimated with injuries. So they are going to be vulnerable at the back, so will have to play the high line with the forwards perennially on the attack. Cheers! Ram

Chelsea verus United being a bad tempered affair I'll have to disagree with that I think it will be a quiet game with very little ever happening and it will be decided by either one goal or a penalty shoot out . I do think Chelsea will win and I also want Unied to win . Why don't you like John Terry I can understand Frank Lampard who I thinks extremely overrated. I'm not sure we'd have an all Spanish final any way as I do see their opponents in this leg pulling off shock results .

Chelsea meets MU...again, but now in Champions league. too bad they meet in the quarter. The competition is always fierce, no matter in what events they meet, EPL,FA, Champions. I remember 2008 UCL final when Chelsea lost to penalty shoot out against MU. John Terry slipped, the last penalty taker. It is the most dramatic final..there might be El Classico again I think in this champions league..Barca vs Real will probably meet again..maybe in the FINAL.LOL

Yes, this could be JT's moment of redemption for that miss. I think if Real and Barca win their matches, they will meet in the semis and not in the finals. Cheers! Ram

Chelsea vs Man Utd i certainly the most exciting match in the quartefinals and I don't think there's a favourite in this match;I'm sure we'll see two fantastic games. The other three matches have all an obvious favourite, though I believe Schalke is capable of producing a surpise,as the two teams met some time ago in the UEFA Cup final and Schalke won the trophy.I also think Shaktar will be a tough opponent for Barca, but they won't be able to stop them, and we'll have a dream semifinal between the two Spanish giants.

You are right Schalke could be a tricky side. But looking at the resilience displayed by Inter against Bayern, I still feel they should go through fairly easily. I think Barca will be a bit too much for Shaktar.

Couldn't agree more with you...That English occasion is certainly worth to be waited, as it pits up two title rivals, which rivalry has lasted for so many years...Schalke may have chance against Inter Milan, but not to forget Inter are the holder and surely a team to beat...Nevertheless, I couldn't care much about the results but this occasion's... The results at SB and OT will determine the way the league will end, and the right to play in the semi-final...

Chelsea verus Unioted and exciting game have you wathced them two play against each other it will be the likeliest of all the games to be the least exciting game . I think Shaktar being underestimated may just swing the result in their favour .

I don't think that it is possible, due to the fact that this is the pitting of all the teams involved: Real vs Tottenham (Q1) Chelsea vs Manchester United (Q2) Barcelona vs Shakhtar (Q3) Inter Milan vs Schalke (Q4) Semi 1-(Q4) vs (Q2) Semi 2-(Q1) vs (Q3) The farthest they can meet together is in the SEMI FINAL - and only one team can go through...Which is it, only time will tell...

Hi friend, Long time, no see. It is tragic for both Chelsea and MU. Regarding the Champions League Draw, it is great for Barca, although Barca have to face the cold whether. Back to you topic. Currently, Chelsea is still get through the tough time, although it have transferred it two good players. Actually, I still confused that what's going wrong about Chelsea. As to MU, MU actually make a good performance this season basing on their players. I have to admire Ferguson. He is really a great coach, one of the greastst three to five coaches in the world in my opinion. If u want me to forecast the result, i think Chesea have a better chance.

For Barca if they win this match, next up could be the El Classico. But Tottenham could have something to say about it. Cheers! Ram

This would ensure that there will be an english team in the semi-finals. As for Barcelona, on paper they look to have landed an easy tie. But Shaktar Donestk is not too bad a team. Of course, there is always this conspiracy theory that UEFA favour Barcelona and from the draw, it looks pretty much as it is.

This also keeps the possibility that there could be an all English final at Wembley. How about Man U vs. Tottenham for the final at Wembley. :) Cheers! Ram

It is very strange that the so called giants have managed to get outsiders as an opponent and the only big clash which was made is Manchester vs Chelsea. It seems that UEFA wants a final with teams from two different countries. The games will be great, I believe, but UEFA is very corrupt in my opinion. The referees are from bad to worse, they are not punished and the draws seem to be "directed". I think that Barcelona, Schalke, Real and Chelsea will go through, and we will get another two El Classicos in the semis.

I agree that refereeing this season has been diabolical. I think UEFA seriously has to look at the quality of their referees and probably use Video Technology if possible. Cheers! Ram

As for me, it has eliminated almost every chance the final will be an English occasion as what happens in the Moscow 2008 final...With both teams reviving the moment, where United took the spoils , I bet it will be some sort of revenge ground for Chelsea...They are beaten by penalties, and I believe it still haunts some of the players until now ...I couldn't pass but to agree that it will be a massive clash for both clubs...They have long history of rivalry, and in recent years has brought it to the next level - title rivalry...I bet this will be a great occasion - but deep in my heart I wonder what will be the reaction if this match is played as the final...

An all English final is still on the cards. But it requires more fairy tale results from Tottenham. The winner of Chelsea - Man U match could reach the finals while the Tottenham could beat Real and Barca and make it to the finals :). Cheers! Ram
