You wouldn't think that a natural disaster halfway around the world in a whole other country could put lives in danger here in the good ol US of A would you. Well with the earthquakes in Haiti, Turkey, New Zealand, and finally Japan we have been seeing a lot of people in far away countries really taking it in the teeth from an obviously pissed off Mother Earth, but nothing like the nuclear reactor meltdown that is happening in Japan right now.
When the earthquake first hit and the tsunamis began to rush away from the shores of Japan, California got the first tsunami warning in American history. They were able to pinpoint pretty much what time it would arrive and where but much like the fools in Florida who have hurricane parties on the beach so they can watch the hurricane roll in, some ninnys in Northern California had a tsunami beach party and when the wave came in 5 of the ninnys went out. Only one died (shucks!) the others were fortunate enough to make it back to shore and safety.
Now we have warnings of a radioactive cloud headed this way pretty much along the same routes as the tsunami did, but with much more perilous possible results. Will this finally wake people up to the fact that as Creed says in the song "One" We may rise and fall, but in the end, we'll meet our fates together. There is only one planet in the entire universe that we know for a fact can be inhabited by humans and it is this one. Why would you proliferate things like nuclear bombs and nuclear reactors without a clear exit strategy if just such a disaster occured. I have read recently that a lot of the pollution that we see here is blown on the trade winds clear from places like China and Japan who will not agree to any UN treaties to reduce their greenhouse gasses. It is all connected, this whole planets fates rest in, on, and with each other. The sooner people realize that the sooner they will rise up and demand changes and improvements from their governments.

The experts told us that we were in no danger of the radiation reaching us. Now they tell us that it is miniscule and not to worry. I say, if they were wrong the first time, are they wrong now?
Earth is headed for a cleansing. Not because Mother Earth is mad at us, but because we are a foolish and arrogant race. I think it's time to look UP and not around us for answers.

I agree with you , we need to realize that changes need to be implemented now. or goodness know what will happen next. All these natural disasters are happening so soon after each other from New Zealand to Japan what's next. As for having parties on the beach when hurricanes or tsunami are going to hit is insane. Cheers Sue
