Is there a limit to how long posts can be?

Hi everyone,
I want to post a bit about my life in a discussion, but before doing that I need to know if there's a limit to how long posts in mylot can be. My story is a bit long, and I want to make sure it will all fit into a post.
Thanks in advance.

It will be in your interest to keep it brief so that users read your topic as most here are busy bodies. Also if it is too long one has the tendency to rush through it and misread the whole thing and give wrong responses. There has never been a problem with reasonably long topics but as Lamb says his must have run into pages (lol)!!

May I add my thought on keeping it brief?
If a topic is too short then there is not enough to be able to discuss and create an interesting response. Only a few lines in the topic do not ususally give much to talk about therefore I do not advise to ne brief.
Of course rambling on and on is pointless too, but too short is not worthwhile for anyone who is participating and ususally does not cause a quality discussion to follow.

Sorry. I don't agree with you Diana. I have come across several brief topics where there have been heavy discussions. Here is one for example: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2368503.aspx

I said 'do not usually'. I did not say 'never'.
Of course there is the exception once in a while when a short, concise topic causes a discussion too.

Yes, I know posts can get pretty long. The problem is, Much less people will read them. I know when I see a long post, even if it's on a topic that intrests me,I won't read it. I've heard other mylotters say the same thing.

at all.abide by the rules and the lenght does not matter at all.

I've posted paragraphs and paragraphs worth of text before. I've never come across any word limits. Of course you could just type it all out in word, or a similar word processing package. Copy and paste it when you're ready, and ifit does get cut off, you can just paste the rest in as an additional comment?
