Yesterday night, I drove my car back from my parents' house. It was quite dark because it was nearly midnight. I drove a little bit fast because I felt that it was already too late. Suddenly at one place, a lady appeared and she wanted to stop my car. First of all I was so shocked because it was very dangerous for her to do that. I decided not to stop because I am not sure it was a genuine case or something else such as robbery and so on. What are you going to do if this kind of thing happen to you?

Hi alokijon,
The whole episode seems a makeshift story. First thing if it is almost midnight no normal woman would be standing on the road to stop your car and even if she was an agent of a gang she would shoot you or the Tyre to deplete it.
Secondly what kind of place was it? Absolutely dislocated one or was a part of a small town? No normal woman would dare to stop a car. Hence she was something different.
Thirdly, it was your illusion. Since you were already late and driving a bit faster, you were scared of something or the other. Possibility is that in your subconscious mind there is an image of ghost or you heard such story from your friend and therefore I saw a woman like object which was nothing but your imagination getting a shape.

It was definitely not an illusion. I was confident that she was a real human being. It was a dark place. It is not really an isolated area actually. There are two houses at both sides of the road but that is really dark. I am not why the woman was there. Maybe she had a fight in her family?

I would keep on going, and get the license plate number of other car. Then, I would pull out my cell phone and make a call to the local police and explain what happened. That way, I kept myself out of harm's way, yet if she needed assistance, there would be help on the way. I think that in today's world, it is just too much of a risk to stop at that time of night for anyone unless they are driving a car with lights nd sirens and carry a badge. There are just way too many people out there, men and women alike that are out to harm others. You never know, by making the choice to keep on going, you may have saved your own life.

I think you did the right thing by not stopping for that lady. You'll never know why she did that but at least you are just being practical. who knows, maybe she's a front man in a plan or robbery. Or a front woman in her case. But this idea came across my mind, maybe she's someone who needs help because she got robbed. or something bad happened to her and someone is chasing her and she's just trying to get some help. you know. like what happens in a movie or something. but I hope that's not the case.

If this happens in an unfamiliar place,i will not stop.
I will drove fast and try to get some help from the nearest police or any shop or whatever establishment where i can asks some help, maybe the lady really needs help or just a bait..we never knew.
But stopping her in the middle of nowhere and in the middle of the night that would be too risky.
happy weekend

i am told to not stop at people who asks me to stop while driving alone, at midnight.
no way will i do that. i will let them chase me instead, and even if it is police, i would go to a nearest station. sorry.. hard to trust anyone at this time where crimes are abundant.

I would drive right off, because at that hour it would not be safe. I would either call on my cell phone which normally I have on my person because it is connected to my car. If that were not an option then I would pull into a service station and inform someone if in fact the women appeared to need help.
I have been robbed before and although I know no two people are the same, I do need to protect me because at the time of my being robbed no one looked out for me. So at least I would be courteous to retrieve help somehow.
