She is an Adivasi(tribe) girl. That was 24 Nov, 2007. She travelled 258 kms with other members from her tribe to the capital city of this province. Their student's party organized a rally to demand schedule tribe status for them and this girl was taking part at that rally. Suddenly, the situation got turn and all the participants became the cruel target of local crowd. Attack and attack. She was stripped naked and brutally assaulted by a violent mob in broad day light. She disappeared into the feeling crowd after a middle aged local resident came to her rescue and took off his own shirt to help the girl cover herself. Later story is as usual. Government offered her job, 1 lakh INR... but she declined. She wanted to raise her voice on parliament being a member but unfortunately her nomination paper was cancelled due to underaged. For details you may click this on link. ( not a referral link). http://mytake-charakan.blogspot.com/2009/03/was-forced-to-run-nakedbut-now-running.html Here a pic of that incident is added. I just want to say you to give a look at the boy who was clicking his camera instead of covering her by a piece of cloth. The three boys who stripped her was arrested and they are also on that pic. Have you ever heard this type of incident? Please share.

Hi bhabycatch.. I dont know whether they are educated or not but sure they are not morally educated because an educated person cant do that stupidity. Reasons are there to admire her as she want to struggle for her caste and wants to be representative from her caste. She wishes to establish their freedom. I like it. @ didi... sure.

@ jaiho, Indian Princess? what a term for me. @ shibham, yah!i agree with you but i think the girl's intention was good there is nothing wrong to fight for you freedom everyone deserve to have one, will as i know if you are in low caste it seems you don't have the rights to speak or what so ever but i believe that " IT'S CHANGING NOW" excerpt from an Indian Bestfriend . Is the girl classified as Sudras?

We still have perverts in our country and that shows in such incidents. I do remember this incident being flashed across papers all over the country. First shame on the papers who published this photograph. Just imagine the plight of the girl who was tortured this way and had to relive this incident each and every time she saw herself on paper and news! Any woman would have broken down and lost the will to live after being shamed this way. But this girl had the courage to live first and then fight back. That, in itself, is a great achievement. She would have suffered so much to get herself out of that turmoil. Not only do we have women being publicly shamed like this, but we do have women tortured in day to day life by men surrounding them. It is a great pity that these are done by people close to them. How they tackle each and every person who treats them that way and misbehaves with them, everyday, from the time they get up to the time they go to sleep is a wonder. But we women still do it and carry the hope that someday all this will stop.

So friend. You are well known about this incident? Yes, i am thinking about that photographer who was hurry in taking pic instead of covering her. She is really a brave and determined a girl as i came to know later on. She wants to fight for her caste and nation. They are depriving from all opportunities and so they raised voice that day and beaten by crowd. She may be suffering inherently but her fight back is a lesson to those culprits. If you come across this lady series, they you will find some stories where women are getting tortured, humiliated, assaulted on every step of life. Its really a shame to greater human community. Have a nice day.

HI friend... Very true that women are getting tortured all day although we are telling much about equality. Its so so dialogue.. nothing else. Hope you have read all the stories... there are yet to come some other stories.. too much horrendous and terrific. Who will punish? The last hanged criminal of india was Dhananjay and he was hanged years ago for a rape case... already many years are over... and uncounted tortures also over. We just can utter... NO ONE KILLS JESSICA. Thats all. have a nice day.

Yes shibham. I do remember this incident very well. I was shocked to the core. And only news like this comes out once in a while. We women are being tortured each and every day of our life in some way or the other. Just think about those countless stories which have not come out in the fear of being humiliated or shamed? We are suffering in silence and there is very little we can do about it. Only punishing people who do this kind of atrocitites against women will teach others not to even think about it and instill fear in their hearts. That girl is really brave and wants to fight back, but think about the lost innocence and dignity. Shame on these guys. Shame on them.

hello dear bhai, I never heard such incident happened here in my country (or maybe i just overlooked) But i admire her courage. I wonder why tribes or so-called lower castes don't have voices in your country. There should be rep in each tribe, since those people knows better what their tribes needs and their feelings. I wish those 3 men be stripped off in public and let them dance to the music of JAI-HO

Hi didi.. Not all of them are considered as lower caste or tribe. We honor all of them but savages exist on each and every society. And there faces come out when accident happens like this. There was a man who offered his dress as well. I salute both of them.... the girl and that person. The punishment is best for them but anything can be moved under table. Have a nice day.

Hi Shibham, This is not new in our country. Similar incident has happened many times before. A few years back this has happened in New Delhi also. You will not believe this happened in a school. The girl was stripped by her teacher for not doing homework!. Check this link: http://archives.dawn.com/2007/10/01/int6.htm Another instance on the occasion of Holi festival in Guwahati. A girl was stripped by channel reporter in presence of police!. Check this link: http://headlinesindia.mapsofindia.com/state-news/assam/girl-forcibly-stripped-in-guwahati-police-took-no-steps-40621.html Yet another case in Mumbai where 10 women and 2 men are involved in this horrific job. Check this link: http://www.dnaindia.com/mumbai/report_22-year-old-dalit-girl-stripped-beaten-up-in-sewri_1400489 So, this is not new in our country and in fact this has happened and is happening everywhere on the globe. I have given links only for our country, but everywhere this is happening. People are losing their morale and are becoming animal with the time.

Hi Shibham, How can it happen only in India, It happens wherever there is "human" as these things happens due to humans' obsessive and psychotic nature. Wow! you write novels! That is really great.

This is really a very shocking incident. These types of incident are very shameful for everybody. I don't understand why people do these types of acts. The boys who are taking her pictures have no conscience. Today they are doing with this girl tomorrow someone will do this thing with some female of their own family. Society is get mad and some people like this are doing anything when they are in groups.

I have not heard of this type of incident but my heart goes out to the girl victim. Why do they have to strip off her clothes, it is a harassment for the women. I am glad there was a resident that helped her.

Hi Shibham, Nothing would have been after they mob was dispersed after lathi charge but an incident that you have mentioned took away the whole attention on her. The local people made her target and fastening her hands behind they stripped her almost naked and the horrible part was that the fourth pillar of democracy made no delay to take camera shot on her and also videos. I too am wondering where are we living? Is it democracy that you can not protest your for your cause? Besides why to make the girl semi naked? Are out journalists suffering from voyeurism?

Hiya shibs, Horrifying Story this one and I can feel really feel for that Girl she must have wondered what on earth are they doing? It sends a chill deep down this one. It sounds so terrible I know that it does happen but until someone else you know tells you you don´t really feel involved in it. In my Husband´s Family there is a story similar to this and it was a Woman involved too and this had to do with the Civil War in Spain there was such an unbelievable hatred and fear amongst each Person. Brother was set against Brother Sister against Sister. I can tell they were living in a sort of gone way back into the past attitude then and it has not been so long back either. The Woman was deprived of her Clothing and tarred and feathered on top no one covered her up she was paraded through the Streets of the Village itself with a lot of People shouting her down. They also shaved her Hair off and left her with none just like the other Women with her. Her crime was none but being a Woman of a Man who they thought was guilty he was not guilty either but he had to flee into France for safety. Since then she had to live in the same Village for a Woman there was no escape at all then. I admire her courage to recover and take up everyday living again but it took it´s toll on her I write this in memory of a Woman who had to keep silence for many Years as it was unheard of then to tell such a thing. She had thirteen Children then along with her was a few other Women who suffered the same thing hair shaved off completely and no clothes left all in shreds around them and they were tarred and feathered after and paraded around in a Cart for all to see. For her honour I cannot state her name but this is real and it did exist that is why I feel for that very brave Girl. Thank God for the Man who covered her with his Shirt. Those three Men should live in shame to know what they have done. This was all done in the name of blind hate no reasoning was involved here they were driven by pure hate. I don´t want to go on further than this but my Heart goes out to that Girl such a young Girl to live such an incident too and my Heart goes out to the other Woman who was labeled also what she never was. She was a very kind and loving Person. Getting too emotional now so that´s it. Take care now.xxx

Hi angel.. She is from tree tribe. Her life is full of struggle. Before this traumatic event she earned only 40INR daily working on tea garden. They are deprived from all modern facilities, i mean electricity, communication, transport and so on... She left school for poverty and collected money she wished to start cutting, knitting and weaving business. That was the first time that she came to capital city and that incident happens. Nishant has put a link... the third link.. which is quiet common with the story that you have mentioned. There are many incident where some women become victims of public torture without any cause. i am about to write about them in this series. I understand your emotional status of mind. So, take care and have a nice day.

Oh my... Those people must go to jail or else some people will copy that. Poor girl. I read an article about a Korean girl who was also stripped naked and brutally assaulted by violent girls. They were just middle school or high school students. The CCTV caught them but they were so young so they can't go to jail.

Hi.. As far my information is considered, they were arrested but i dont know what punishment was given to them. I think they should be assaulted same in public. Yes, your mention story is quiet common everywhere. sometimes it comes to focus and sometimes not. Have a great day
