My subscription to my anti-virus will soon expire and I'm trying to find another anti-virus which will make my computer protected from viruses. I always browse the net so I'm afraid that I could enter some site which are prone to viruse. Could you please share what you are using and how much does it cost? Your response to me would be a great help , thanks

i am using avast, and it's free.. and you can always get a free code from their site, and i also use secure clean to clean my computer.. even though i have an antivrius to clean my computer, secure clean still works, to delete the traces of the deleted files, and the viruses as well.

don't install two antivirus
installing two antivirus product will take up incredible amounts of your system resources at once.Anti-virus programs are large resources hogs and for that reason they are meant to be kept alone. They will not share the resources but in fact fight over them causing more problems exposing larger holes in your computer.

That means I shoud uninstall first my previous anti-virus software before installing new one or just uninstall it after my installation of a new anti-virus software.

There are many free antivirus solutions of which the best at the moment are AVG Free (from Grisoft), Avira and Avast. I currently use Avast and am very satisfied with it. It updates the database regularly and frequently warns when I come across a page which may be dangerous. It checks email attachments and detects and deals with any trojans or viruses I may encounter. I have used it for about a year now and am very happy with it.

I'm planning to buy it because I already prove that Norton is one of the best I've used so far. I used it right now but my subscription to it will soon expire. I'm trying to find an antivirus which is FREE with the same protection that Norton offers. Could you site one ?

If you are using any windows operating system on your laptop then you can use Microsoft Security Essential. It is a free antivirus from Microsoft and I have been using it from some time now.
It consumes very low resource and also effective. You can download it from Microsoft's website for free.
I have only tested it on Windows and it has successfully kept my laptop from any threat for a long time now and I highly recommend it.
