Love is blind means the lovers can't see his partner's faults. He doesn't look at the physical appearance or their social status. What is important is that he love her and he will conquer anything just to be with his love one.

Of course, these quotations are more like motivators and do not define a rule always. They are more to ensure that people can take heart from them. For e.g. there is one which goes "When the going gets tough, the tough get going!!" The point is if the tough was already doing things properly, the going would never have got tough in the first place!! Another interesting one is "The early bird always gets the worm." How about the quote, Don't Judge a book by it's cover. It just simply means that we should not judge a person just based on their looks, we should get to know them and judge them by their character. How many of us don't always follow this ? I know I have done this myself , many times we meet a person and we judge them by how they look and how they are dressed, and they may not alway be the best looking or the best dressed and or dressed in the latest fashion, once we have taken the path to go ahead and talk to the person and really get to know them beyond looks, We find that the person is a a very nice person, respectful, courteous and kind and in a lot of cases a very good conversationalist, as well as having a wonderful sense of humor. We are so drawn to their personality , that we may feel ashamed of not taking the step sooner to engage that person in good conversation, this can be true of people we may meet while waiting on a bus, or other modes of public transportation, standing in line at a grocery store, etc. this can also be the start of having met and developed a friendship with a great person.

I love famous quotes...I believe most of them are true by their own experiences and some of the have been created just to motivate others. I especially like the saying " Time waits for no one". It makes me realize I should take advantage of oppurtunities when they come. Make the best of situations.

I'd have to disagree with you when you say that the quote "Love is blind." isn't true. There are many who loves without caring how they look. I'm not one of those but you know what I mean. There are people who fall in love with other who doesn't look that good but has other qualities as well.

I think that most of them are metaphors. I think that people dig deep as they say these words. We may agree with them or not but I think that most of them are making a lot of sense given the right situation. I even think that we will relate to all of them in our lifetime. Be it quotes about love or life, we need them even to just be a comforting statement.
