why are classic songs always the "classic" ones that never fade even if time flies? i could listen to david foster, james ingram, fralippo lippi, chicago, christopher cross, earth wind & fire's (etc.. etc..) songs & i will never get bored. whereas when i listen to a recent pop song over and over again, i get fed up & i don't listen to it anymore. there's just something about the oldies that remains, something really significant :) that's why i always love these songs :)

Hi jpaxxx21,
I believe that these songs are timeless because they have beautiful meanings, rhythm and harmony. Also a song that speaks to the listener is always unforgettable. And the plus factor is that the melodies are almost always tantalizing. The new songs though they may sound good, do not always touch the core, but there are also some songs that do hold my reverie.
I think songs evolve as time pass by and always contemporary songs appeal to each and every individual for which the circa of those songs have they have been born with because we grew up with them.
Wonderful to you!

you know, i enjoy listening to the new ones, but i limit myself because when i hear it again for the nth time, i'm afraid i'd get pissed by it. lol. when i hear such song played as a ringing tone, it pisses me. i enjoy them, yes. but i always get back to the oldies.
