today is Saturday, no office, so i went to a clinic of a reputed specialist for check up as i am feeling some things that are not supposed to be felt.
there was too much rush, i was given a token # 454, means i get served when they call the number 454. but i heard they were calling 103. well, if the doctor takes 10 mins for one patient, mine will come after 4,540 minutes. uhhh i dont have the patience to wait that long! how could doctors cope up with so many patients? dont they ever get tired?
why there is so much rush? why people get sick? or is it the pollution and the environment or the food? why do you think people are so prone to sickness nowadays.. and at very young age? do you ever compare about people 70 years ago living healthy and reaching the age 100 before they retire from mother earth's beauty?
do tell me the scene from your end. do you also wait for hours just to be checked by doctors?

Well, my mom used to tell me that people from old days live longer. And we have a handful of elders in our place who lived long. And my mom would always say, they lived a healthy lifestyle that's why they grew that old.
As for me, we are all responsible for our health. Well, part of the development of civilization is the development of technology. And with technology booming, a lot of improvements and innovation with food are created. Such innovations may have some adverse effects on our health if it is not enjoyed moderately. Food consciousness is one of the often topic my mom would discuss with us her children. She would always believe that "We are what we eat.." and "anything in excess is dangerous"...
To live a long life, we have to go back to basics. Simple food for simple yet healthy living.

It's true, I was told the same. My grandmother says it has alot to do with how the foods are made nowadays where back in the day, food were home grown, natural and without pesticides, hormones and such.

Hi Ann and Texasgal,
Yes they tell us the same story because it's what they've seen with the changes now in our generation. It's our role now to be wise enough in terms of consumption and enjoyment of technological development on foods and other things...

hi adezan,
that is the reason why we ask for appointments so that we dont need to wait very long. but it seems that the secretary of the doctor do not control the patients that are coming in.
i get pissed when people do not do their share of managing time.
they dont think that we have other things to do still.

Personally, I think it all depends on where you go see a doctor and if they are your regular doctor or not. Most of the time when I go and see my regular doctor it seems like I can get in and out without much of a wait time, but if I am scheduled to see her assistant, then I have to wait. The last time I seen her assistant my apt was at like 2:30 and I was not called in until like 3:15 and did not get out of there until 4. It was crazy.

Hiya tiger,
I did wait once that long for an Appointment with an eye Specialist for my Son´s Glasses. It was well worth the wait and I had to wait no less than three hours. I thought this will be quick just check up and out but I was there for ages. I could not go out and come back either as you did not know if he was going to hurry up all of a sudden.
He is still the best Specialist here and he has hours of queues in that Consulting Room so I did the right thing. I hung on to my patience which having my three year old as well jumping all over the place was wearing a bit thin.
Yes I knew older People in England that knew what it was like to starve almost and they did live much longer as well although there are People that are still living to a great age as well.

Same situation here in most clinics, but most doctors stop at patient number 100, you may ask, if they stop at 100 then why issue so many tokens, it is because some take the tokens, but don't come to see the doctor, this happens, when they have not paid the fee while receiving the token..
did you pay while you received the 454 # token? did you got back the money?
Well these days people might live longer, but not healthy, just the medicices keep them alive..
my sons are less healty than me, it is due to the pollution , the food we eat dear Anny
Thanks for sharing
Cheers.
God bless you, have a nice day ahead.

Dear Anny
My mom is alive, she is certainly much more active than me, my mom in law was very active till her last, my daughter, sons are starting to have health problems, it is due to weather, pollution , pestisides we eat with veges, fruits, rice, wheat..
About the doctors same situation here, i usually go to doctors who were hubbys students in the past..
They check us for free in their home, at times in our home..
HAPPY HOLI TO YOU, YOUR DAUGHTER AND GRAND DAUGHTER
God bless

hello kal,
the reason why most farmers nowadays prefer planting organic plants. fertilizers come from compost not for synthetic ones.
i agree that the environment contributes a lot to one's health.
have a nice day.

I just can't see how the doctor can meet up so many people per day, aren't tired, would they make mistake if they see that many people all at once? I was curious how accurate of their service if they have to see that many people. Maybe more help would be needed, don't you think?

I called into my doctors office and they have been swamped. I was legitly sick which is rare for me. The nurse asked if I had a fever. Told her no. She then informed me that I really was not sick enough to see the doctor that day and then made an appointment for me for 2 days later. I go in and see the actual doctor and not a nurse, and am asked why I waited so long to get into see him. That I have a complete respirator infection and what looks to be tonsilitis.

There are two sides to everything. On one hand, today people are liable to suffer from a illness, tracing to its source,It stems from global warming, environmental pollution, food contamination, antibiotic abuse, and so on;on the other hand, with the living standards of the people rising year by year, people attach importance to their health.
