Arsenal can't beat smaller teams

Arsenal managed a draw today against West Brom and this may just prove to be a costly mistake and they were quite lucky in even earning their draw as they were two goals down for most of the game. What does this draw mean for Arsenal, do you feel this could be the last mistake and leave the title back in uniteds hand once again.
I think this is a lost opportunity for Arsenal as they've now lost ground on United at a crucial part of the season, Arsenal should not be losing to teams of this standard no doubt West Brom are a good team but Arsenal should be standing up against the smaller teams in the league and it isn't the first time they've messed up against a smaller team, how long will it take for Arsenal to really seize their opportunities instead of gifting them back in Uniteds favour.

I agree. They always seem to choke at the important matches and stages of the season. It is always in March that they falter away after a good start. At current moment, it seem like the case yet again. As for the match, what can the fans say? It is very clear before the season started that Arsenal is in need of a good goalkeeper and a defender. The other obvious view is that Denilson and Diaby aint good for the team. In this match, three of the four flaws slapped Wenger face. What a crap show by Almunia and Schillaci. Denilson? He did nothing useful and was always a liability. As much as it pain to say this, Arsenal season is truly over. five points, nine games to go, that is a gap too large especially when Man Utd had been inkling out the results.

I couldn't pass but to agree with you...Arsenal has been disastrously hit by the fall of their "quadruple" title hopes earlier this season, and for them to get back and running in winning ways will be a tough job for Arsene Wenger...
Nevertheless, United has been excellent throughout the season, despite the fact that they are not playing at their best...Their ability of grinding out results when other teams are unable to do that is the main factor why they are at the first place now...

@sjlskl I do agree with most of what you said Arsenal do tend to fall away at this part of the season and they have needed a new keeper for quite awhile even when they had Jens Lehman I was never totally convinced by him as he was also a liability but in regards to the other players they are all quite good and see out their specific roles quite well .
I don't think they need any new defenders that's for sure they've been unlucky with Djouru and Vermaelan being injured. Diaby is a good player and Denilson does the dirty work in the team so you'll only realise how much he does for the team if he leaves. Arsenals season over , I'm not sure about that and I'm united fan they've still got their game in hand remember yeah it's a gap but the league title is still quite possible unfortunately .
@livecenter I couldn't agree more United have been poor but great at getting the results they need and usually when they need it the most just like todays victory where Arsenal have lost out on their opportunity to keep up the pressure.

With Djourou and Vermaelen, Arsenal do have a good central pairing. Credit to Kolsicenly. But the same cant be said of Schillaci. It says alot that Arsenal struggle with they played the latter two as the central pairing. Look at Man Utd, they have Ferdinand and Vidic out and they can put the likes of Smalling, Evans and Brown in the central. Of course, having Van Der Sar at the back is a bonus. That is why Man Utd can still win despite playing badly, cause their defence is very hard to preach.
As for Denilson, I seriously do not think he will be solely missed. As a defensive midfield, he seem too light-weight. Moreover, his passing is poor and as a defensive midfielder, a poor pass and it will immediately put pressure on the defense.

I think last week was a dreadful one for Arsenal. But something every Arsenal fan was feeling was waiting to happen to Arsenal. I think Arsenal players have got a major mental block. Everytime they come close to winning something or taking the lead in the Premier League they simply chicken out. I have run out of reasons of supporting Mr. Wenger and his young gunners on this now!! I think it is high time for Wenger to come forward and take some of the blame for not having a real leader who can take the team to the next level within the team.
Cheers!

I do think they haven't really got over the loss of Patrick Veira and that's a number of years ago since his departure I think they had the right kind of player who'd fight for the team no matter what in Matthieu Flammini but they screwed up with his contract situation so they lost possibly the only player with the character of leadership in both the good and the bad games .
I do think the result was inevitable with them showing in recent times that they just can't seize any opportunity, everyone thought the Carling cup was easy pickings for them and going by the final so did the Arsenal players but they were shown that you need to earn your success and make every game count, they've failed to so in recent years and I think that's why the title is Uniteds for the taking .
I don't think Wenger should be blamed for the players performance he knows how to manage a successful team I do however think it's time he spends some money on an aggressive player someone with real bite, who has grit determination throughout his game and will stand up and be counted in every game. The problem is choosing the right player and also convincing Mr Wenger to buy someone with such characteristics as none in the Arsenal youth squad seem to develop such attributes, which are key in the premier league.

As for me, it is inevitable...They have been heart-broken following their slump in three different competitions so far...They should feel very down right now...I cannot blame them for not doing well because it is still okay to lose one or two fronts, but three in a fortnight? That's harsh blow for them...No offense, but if this continues until the end of the season, I don't think they will win anything...
Indeed they cannot beat smaller teams, and albeit the other big teams have failed to do so, the impact is mostly on them because they are now leading the chasing pack, and yet they are slumping all the way...They need to change if they are going to stop United for having the 19th league titles...

It does always seem to be the case with Arsenal more than any other side they tend to fail against the smaller teams in the league and it's strange how they can be bullied when you'd think the bigger team would impose the bullying on their opposition not Arsenal though . Out of three competitions is going to be tough mentally which is why I think from this season I can see the current squad going without a trophy for quite sometime yet as they've failed to respond in the right way instead of picking themselves up and getting on with it they've let their heads drop resulting in being dumped out of further competitions
They are chasing United now and really today was a great opportunity with their game in hand to take the chance to build some pressure on United who still have other fixtures in other competitions to worry about but they failed to achieve such a feat . .
