What is that all about?
The last few days when I have been filling out surveys this answer keeps coming up when asking your relationship status.
Now I thought that you could either be single or in a relationship not both at the same time.
So I was wondering if anybody could tell me how can you be single but in a relationship?
What do you think it means?

I am single but I am in a relationship. I am single because I am not married. I always answer single, never married when surveys ask for relationship status. For me it's not confusing. But my bf gets a little annoyed when I say I am single because technically I am since the opposite of single is married.

I am also not married but do not consider myself single. I will always tick living together or married/partner options on surveys.
Like your bf my partner would be annoyed if I put single but in a relationship as we are engaged.

Hi littleone, I guess it could mean that you live alone as single but you do have a boyfriend compared to being just single. This way the survey can find out how many are in co-habiting relationships. The usual questions are single, married, divorced, widowed so admittedly this does seem like a strange question. Huggles.
