Is anybody a writer? And if you are have you ever had your books published. What kind of books do you write? Fiction, none fiction, historical ect. Who in courage you to start writing? I love reading lots of books. But I don't have the talent to write a book. But I have other talents that I can do.

I never saw myself as a writer in my younger days, but I always want to publish one. Initially, I wanted to write children's books. I thought the collaboration between me and my hubby would be just perfect. I could write and he could illustrate. However until the time comes when he shows interest in that, i would have to do something else.
I write articles nowadays, online ones, not for the big magazines or newspapers though. I have two book ideas in my head right now. I have to get it down on paper or I will slowly lose my interest in it. I was thinking of doing my own NanoWrimo. Settle on a particular month to write and just do it. It is non-fiction so it will not qualify for NanoWrimo anyway.
I hope I can get one done this year. What about you?

Thank you for your confidence in me and my upcoming books. I would really love to have a book published, but at the same time, my laziness and lack of confidence in my ability is pushing me backwards. but I guess I must create multiple streams of income, and this is my ultimate goal - to be financially free.

Your welcome. When you are ready I am sure you will have your books published and put out there. It is always nice to work and not be in debt. I wish I could say I wasn't in debt but I know I am. You set your goals well. Keep positive and it will work out for you.

I'm a published author (self published but published none the less) I write mostly fiction. I have one novel out called Connections and a book of short prose called Delusionalism. I discovered my love for writing in the 9th grade when I joined the high school newspaper on a whim. People have always told me I'm a good writer so I just stuck with it.

Now that is great to hear congratulations. What is your book Connections about? We tend to find out what we love doing when we are young or in school. Are you going to be writing anymore books and publishing them? Are you working on any now? I have always had a love for reading. When I start reading a book I can't put it down till I am finished with it.

I'm a writer (although mostly retired now), but I've never written a book. I have around a thousand published articles and I suppose that if I gathered them all together, I would have a book or two. I write mostly nonfiction, but got paid a hundred dollars for a poem once. Considering that I wrote it in about 15 minutes, I thought that was pretty good. I haven't been able to do that since, though.

To me your heart is being pour out into the poem. You have a love for writing and if things have already been published articles. Sounds like you could have some books. Congratulations on the poem.

I have started many books, but sadly, I have never had the courage to complete one. I do write articles though and I feel myself gaining confidence little by little. I have begun writing fantasy books, children's book, fiction based on facts, and even my own life stiry, but whenever I stop writing and go back to read what I have written, I lose my confidence and scrap the whole thing. My family says that I am way too critical of myself and I should just keep pushing forward. I know that they are right, I just haven't gotten there yet.
AS far as who has encouraged me, I would have to say that my parents started encouraging me to write when I was in elemantary school. Even then, I could write well and I wrote several short stories as assignments. As I have grown older, my parents continue toe ncourage me, as do my brothers, my children, my husband and anyone else who I have ever let read my works-in-progress.
One of these days, the pieces will all fall into place for me and I will write many books. Until that time comes, I will continue working towards that goal.

Well don't give up on your book writing I am sure it will go through for you. If you need advice or help I have friends that have published books. I have bought there books and won some to. My friends are on gather dot com. Don't be to harsh on yourself. When it upsets you walk away from it for a little while and go for a walk or talk it over with someone. But try not ripping your work up. I know how it feels because when I draw and it upsets me I rip it up. Keep up the courage you will get those books done. And you never know I might be one that reads one. Good luck.

I've written five full-length novels but I'm not published. I want to be, and I'm trying to be... but I'm finding it much more difficult than writing a book.
I've always been writing and making up stories, since I was itty bitty... but I specifically remember the creative writing teacher at my elementary school telling me I was a good writer in 6th grade (I was 12). I wish I could remember her name... because I think she ruined my life. It was because of her simple comment that I wrote and finished my first long-work, it wasn't quite a novel cause it was only 25,000 words which is half the length a typically novel should be, but at 12 it was totally my novel. I've been writing books ever since.
I'm a big fan of Young Adult fantasy fiction, which is what most of my stuff falls under. I love writing stories about other worlds and fantastical adventures. I love mythological creatures and epic good vs. evil battles.

Sounds like you are a very good writer. Your books would be nice to read. I have always heard that publishing a book was the hardest thing to do. If you want advice I have friends on gather that would give you advice because they have wrote books and they are published. I have won there books and they signed them for me and I have bought there books as well. And they are great. What ever you do don't give up on your writing or trying to publish your books.

How are they published? Is it small press, major publishing house, vanity press, or did they get self-published? Personally, I do not want to be self-published or have to go to a vanity press. I already follow the blogs of several authors I admire in my vein of writing, and I read lots of books about getting published/writing. I haven't given up and I don't plan on ever giving up, though I have hit a period of extreme discouragement as of late.

The people I know go through different publishers not sure who they go through. I know they cover gets done for the book and the publisher has to read what you wrote to see if they accept it and if they do you are on your way. Then your books start hitting the stores and the internet.

I like to write a lot to. I use to write to people all over the world because I loved to write. Maybe that is another reason why I like to draw. I get a picture in my head and have to draw it. Sometimes that picture will stay in my head for months until its done.

When you are young and have the heart for writing books it will happen for you. Everything will build in time and I am sure you will be getting books published. What kind of books do you want to write? There are so many different styles and types of books it would be hard to choose what to write.
