I'm currently in dispute with certain members of my family and they are refusing to return my possessions... what should I do? I lent my nephew's fiancee a Blackberry Curve 8900 and their dog chewed it up... now they are refusing to return it to me (or repay me the value of it) and claim it's not their responsibility... They also have dvds etc of mine and are refusing to return those also.
My niece is being exactly the same. She has ps3 games etc.... that she borrowed - but is now refusing to return them.
What can I do?? (legally speaking... I don't need to make up with these people, just get my stuff back).

I am not sure how the law is in UK, but here in the US we can go to our Daley Center Plaza and file a civil law suit. It does cost here about $90 to file but if you win not only do you get the cost back for the items but the defendant has to pay you back for the filing fee.
Or you can contact one of the famous TV court shows and they will fly parties involved and if you win, you win for the items. If you loose you still get an appearance.
Best of luck and try not lend anymore because apparently lending to some people means we do not get our items back. *sad* because you were a nice guy when you lent them.

I know its hard but sometimes when it comes to family you just have to let it ride and learn a lesson from it///don't lend.. other than either going to court that could be expensive or just ringing them up and asking nicely I can't think what else there is to do...maybe just take the lesson and get on with your life...
