why are there so many spam websites out there, even after no one visits them

3 years back , all i know about spam was a folder in my yahoo mail box, but now i know spam websites more than anything else, why do these owners go on create spam websites, even after knowing that, no one beleive's them, and the browsers too detect them... i think those owners are rich brats , who just waste money like that.... what do you say?
