I think the manufacturer's test any given product before they allow it out on the shelves to see about how long a certain product lasts. They don't care if it lasts past a year because that is as long as the warranty is for anyway. Any time after that is luck on the part of the customer.

I don't care what made it swollen.Since it's not convenient for me to use, what i could do was to dump it.

There are many kinds of factor that affect your cell phone batteries.
1. Did you overcharge it? Or did you left the cell phone charging overnight?
2. Did you left your cell phone inside a car under the heat of the sun?
3. Last but not the least, it might be the (brand) quality of the cell phone/battery.
It is normal to experience this issue if we didn't take special care of the cell phone ^^
Anyway, I think it would be better if you throw away the battery/cells and buy a new one from an authorized distributor. Swollen batteries might explode any moment without further warning.

Thanks for your advice, and i think it's because of the first reason that you mentioned above,or because i put it aside too long.

Good morning, Olds..seems to me, If I remember correctly, didn't you drop this Cell Phone in water or muck? I am thinking that the moisture has something to do with the depletion of the battery...and once again, is that what you are referring too? As Celticeagle has said here, modern products have built in obsolescence, lasting about as long as the warranty. There are many that are cheap, and that could be the reason. Hope your weekend has been good!

No,it's the new cell phone,it's never got wet.It still works, but it's already swollen,so i don't use it.Oh,you reminded me of the warranty, but then i never thought of that when i threw it into the dustpan! It's original with the phone.

You didn't mention the made of your cellphone battery. Anyway, there are really some batteries that doesn't last long because of tear and wear. If it has swollen, maybe it got wet or you have placed you cellphone in your pocket and you perspired a lot and the moisture reached the inside of the cellphone. Anyway, frequent recharging without even reaching the low battery sign is not also good for the cells.

No,i unfixed it and put it into a drawer for about half a month befor i used it in summer,i think that's the reason,or it's all because of the quality of the cell.

What do u mean by cells become swollen? HOw does that even happen in the first place? Cells here means battery isn't it? I've only heard about cells melting but never expanding in size. It might be due to the way u store them when u are not using it. IF not, u must have kept it for too long and so it ended up swollen? Most of my friends with 2 cells are busy people with no time to charge their phones, and that's where the 2nd cell comes in handy.

Yes,i mean a battery.it really got a little expanded, and i couldn't cover the phone easily,so i threw it away.Maybe i phoned a little and kept the battery too long in the drawer, then it got swollen...

Cellphones nowadays have lifespan. It also happened to me twice. I broke my first cellphone the technician said it cannot be repaired. I asked why he said it was totally broken. So, I was so careful with my second phone. I really took good care of it. It got broke again. the technician said the same thing. I think the phone companies put lifespan on the cellphones to make sure people or consumers are going to buy whether we like it or not.

And maybe they give cellphones shorter lifespan to make sure they can have higher sold rate.
