at first,i am a chinese,i come from chengdu.i introduced hot pot (huoguo)to a foreigner yestaday,but he misunderstand what i said.he thought a hotpot as a traditional England food.can you tell me how to explain hotpot to him?thank you

Sorry ,it's maybe to late for my reply.Hotpot is a feature food of chengdu.When the chengdu natives ge toghter with their freinds,most of them would like to chose hotpot as their dinner.Hotpot is famous for its spicy and hot.It is made up of some vegetables and meat.People gather around a small pot filled with charcoal ,electric or gas filled with flavorful and nutritious sope base.You have a choice of spicy,pure and combo for the soup base.Thin sliced raw variety meat,fish,various bean curd products and all kinds of vegetables are boiled in the soup base.
