The reason Adebayor shaved his dreadlocks

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11827_6824595,00.html I found this story quite funny, apparently Adeybayor shaved his trademark dreadlocks as he believes he can't succeed at Real Madrid unless you got rid of them. Does anybody else find this just ever so slightly acidulous . I know they may get in his eyes an all and distract him or something but I've played with football (soccer) with long hair before and you generally get used to it and adapt and as Adebayor has had these dreadlocks for sometime and played well with them I'm slightly bemused at the sheer fact he thinks shaving them will somehow help him succeed at Real Madrid . Still quite a funny idea and if Adebayor think's it will help him seal a permanent move then good for him I myself don't see it helping all that much. What do you make of Adebayors decision, do you think this will help him in anyway?

I think he misunderstood when somebody advised him that something has to change in his head if he wants to play for big teams. He simply decided by something on the head it meant the hair :). That is my take on this situation. Cheers! Ram

Maybe so he just can't figure it out and all this time he's wasted has allowed Benzema to figure out his problems shows he's got a bit more intelligence or maybe he had long hair he'd of though it was the same problem . Still shows some commitment from him I guess, weirdly committed but it's better to have any kind of commitment from a player . I wonder if the hair being shaven will affect his game play, doubt he'll be as good in the air now .

The shaven hair might reduce his overall weight and make him lighter on his feet. :) Cheers! Ram

perhaps this could be true he'll be better aerially and potentially as fast as Aaron Lennon, highly doubt it though . Maybe the weight off his head will make him less big headed . The last idea could help him so much though imagine an Adebayor he never fell out with team mates or the management mind you that may just leave us with less to talk about, everyone loves a little bit of controversy.

Maybe he looked on Madrid's legend like Hierro, Raul, Casillas, and potential comings like C. Ronaldo and Benzema who don't have any dreadlock. So, maybe Adebayor think, that the way to be a Madrid Legend is by throwing away his dreadlock as the first step. No offense to everyone :)

I highly doubt him having long hair will stop him from becoming a Real Madrid legend . David Beckham had long hair and he succeeded in some sense at Real Madrid . Your hair will ultimately not make you any more a success in football and I doubt Adebayor will be at Real Madrid come the end of the season long hair or not .

Hahaha... That's just an excuse. Or... maybe he want to have different type of hair fashion in the future. Maybe like the shoulder length straigh hair or a pony tail.
