Hey fellow lotters, I am just curious what you think about routines. I am not excited when I know that I will be doing just same routine I have in the office. But I am compelled to go to the office because it's my bread and butter.
Today, I might be training for a new system, so it wont be a routine. That being said, I have to get off for office now. LOL. :) see ya all around! :)

I'm not very fond of routines because I easily get bored, that's why I always enjoy teaching foreign language because it's something that is not a routine. There's always something new of funny that would come up from my students and I have to deal with different kinds of skill level which is a bit challenging.
It is because of my daily routine that lead me to Randy. I was so bored I just have to meet interesting people and I met him.

I'm also not so fond of routines, what I really wanted is to travel and travel. LOL. But my job isn't like that, I have to stay in one area and do the thing. Anyway, one day, if I can already afford to leave this job and be a freelancer I would love to travel and work at the same time. I want no routine forever. LOL. though there are certain routines in life that I can't avoid. I want to at least minimize dealing with them every day. :)
Hey you're story with Randy is very wonderful. you broke the routine and you made great friends by doing so! Great job! :) I haven't heard any updates bout randy though. How are you both?

Mostly what we do in life is quite a routine. We wake up, eat, work and sleep.
So, it is just having a positive attitude towards routines that would make them bearable.
Some companies have job rotation where employees will handle another job different from what they are doing before. It is a way of keeping the employee away from complacency and boredom of routine. Still, in the long run a new job today, will soon be a routine one in the future, if the person has been versed with his new job.

That's what day offs and leaves are for. For us to recharged for another week of work! My husband usually plans a yearly vacation for the family. Just an out-of-town trip to a place we have never been to. In fact, we are going to Davao this Friday and I'm really looking forward to my first scuba diving experience!
You know you should try that! In this way, you have something to look forward to when you work. I read you like to travel. You should have my husband's job. He is an auditor and he usually travels around the country. I think it would be a dream job for someone who likes to travel a lot!

True enough we have routines in life, that we have to do. But it would be great to break the routines at times by inserting some out of the ordinary or routinary to enjoy life. :) a day off would be great time to do things that are not part of routine, going out with friends, or go party!!! LOL. Travel would be great too. :)

Routines are fine. They bring order in our lives, though I believe that not everything in life should be routinary. That'll be boring.
Okay routines would be eating breakfast, lunch and dinner, going to work, etc. Those are routines, things that you have to do everyday, but that doesn't mean that what you eat should be the same everyday, and what you do at work should be the same everyday (if it is then you're seriously not growing in your company)
It's important to inject stuff in your routines to make them enjoyable. Also you should find time to do stuff that are not part of your routine

Exactly. It is absurd to say that we want no routine at all. Because life has it's routines that we can't help but deal with and live with. But we can also break routines at times, to enjoy and just not to get so bored with things. We need to back off at times, and do things that are not routinary. As for me, I want to travel and explore the country's beauty. :)
When I get days off from routine (my job), when I came back it feels like the first day of the job. LOL. That's the thing "inject stuff in routines"... Thanks for sharing your idea my friend. \m/

I find that routines are a part of life to a sense, although we may add to it daily. We all get up and do pretty much the same day in and day out and then go back to bed. There are days we change it up a bit by going somewhere different or adding entertainment.
But I feel that the bottom like we do live by routines.

Yes, it's inevitable that we have routines. But sometimes we just have to break the routine, get off a moment just to get rid of boredom.

Wow, we have the same thoughts. That's what I want to do, full time freelancer, and time to travel. I wanted to explore the beauty of our country. But due to time and financial constraints as of the moment I can't. But I believe one day I would be able to do it, for the moment, I just have to live with routines, but my life I'm sure, by God's grace, wouldn't be like this forever. :) Thanks for sharing. :)

I enjoy routines, they keep me sane. However, sometimes I feel like I need to get out of a routine as after awhile it starts to stress me out. Routines are good and helps the stress of day to day life go down, but like I said sometimes after awhile it gets to be too much and a vacation or atleast a change of pace is needed.
Hope you had a great day at the office!

I do think that it's important to have some structure in life, whether at work or not. I think that at times it makes things easier. I don't think that everything should structure. There should be room for doing things that aren't planned and things like that.

Yes, planning and routines make life in order. But sometimes boredom creeps us up to us. And to break the boredom, I do things out of the ordinary routine. Going out with friends. or blogging on the internet would be my usual breaking of routine. (,")

Hello dear,
You are absolutely right. I have been going to office for last thirty years and believe me there was hardly any one day when I did something out of my routine. I am now so used to entire work that while feeling sleepy I can finish it. But nothing can be done as this job only gives me pocket full of money to take home.

Sometimes i think that routines are good for us because they can help to keep us organized. Getting away from our routines is also good for us because it keeps us from getting into that humdrum and boring rut we can easily fall into. We need structure to achieve many goals. i think routines are the way they can become reality.

when you say routine it means that your doing the same thing everyday. nothing has change sometimes very minimal changes but still you do the same thing almost everyday. From the time you wake to the time you report to your office until you get home. and you're used doing it, you almost perfected it. Most often you get bored your daily routine. but that's life. Why don't you just try other things outside your daily routine like you go somewhere else after work, like eating out with your friend, going to shopping malls or watch your favorite movie. Enjoy and be happy.

Yeah, I go out with friends every now and then to break the routine. And at times when boredom seems so strong, I log in here even when I'm in the office. Just to break free for a moment.

For me, I am okay with routines. The work we have in the ward I am assigned is quite routine. I am used to it and I do not fear that I will be making a mistake because I have done it over and over again. Sometimes, the routine is shattered when we are very busy, this is where the challenge comes in..

Good for you my friend. I don't quite enjoy routine. But I am learning to live with it. It's something inevitable in life. :)
