As a child I was positively terrorized by the movie The Birds. I am beginning to be a bit frightened again. Mass deaths of animals and birds and fishes are being reported all over the world, unlike the Hitchcock movie where birds gather in mass and terroize a small town, these birds, animals and fish are simply dying in mass.

google birds and fish dying in mass and you will get a page full of articles.
What is going on?

I remember when i saw the film "The Birds" for the first time. I saw terror in every bird that flew in the sky. Alfred Hitchcock was very good at pushing the fear and panic button. i don't think another animal movie scared me that much except for maybe jaws. The Birds did make you have to stop and wonder what triggers animals in groups to react the way they do?

I don't think the movie ever did provide an answer, that is what made it so scary.
Not having an answer to this is what makes it so scary too.

I was attracted to your topic because I too, as a child and even years later when I saw it again, was scared by that film. I can still remember the feeling of anxiety that I had for days after seeing it the first time
I am also aware of these birds dying. We have had episodes here in Italy and no-one has ever provided proof as to the cause.
The responses and comments here are very interesting indeed and it is another topic that is going into my 'go back later' folder because I am certain that there will be more added to it too.
Great topic!

Not only have they given no explanations but, like many 'mysteries' these days, they seem to have pushed it under the carpet and it is no longer mentioned here. There are more important things that the media think we shoudl know about - like who was eliminated from Big brother ).
Rear Window indeed was another!
They don't make films like those any more. Today's films don't keep me glued to the seat and oblivious to what is going on around me like those did

The authorities have not tried to explain, or they just haven't been able to find out what caused it?
I hope they can come up with some explanation soon. Because if it's a sign of more disaster...people need to really get their act together fast.
I think that movie, The Birds, was his greatest one. Maybe the one with Jimmy Stewart having a broken leg and seeing a murder was a close second. Can't think of the name of that one???

Personally I sometimes tend to think it has to do with the Earth's atmosphere and the changing of the temperatures along with the changing of pollutions with more towns and cities being built instead of leaving the wastelands and tropical fields alone. I think overall there is a lot we do not see and will never know unless someone takes time to investigate it all.

My theory is that taking all that oil out of the crust of the earth has made it unstable? What do you think?

oops, I was thinking about all the earthquakes...
I have heard that our magnetic field is getting ready to flip flop. That could be the reason for all the birds running into things and fallig out of the sky. It is time for them all to be flying back north now, right?

I'm glad you started this one. I was scared of The Birds movie as well. And when the first report of birds literally dropping from the sky - in multiple locations - hit, then we heard about the massive amounts of fish dying, then animals....it certainly got me concerned.
I also saw a short video of the guy who said that these happenings have to do with coming earthquakes. If that's the case, then it appears that we can expect them everywhere soon.
It's disturbing to realize that the scientific community is baffled. And it's annoying that the media reported on the birds and fish and animals dying, then went on to the next story with no follow up.

They always do that, I don't like it either. But I do realize that they are time constrained. Still, follow up the next day or week would be nice.
There is a prophecy in the Old Testament, and I read a blog by a rabbi in Jerusalem who was talking about it...where the birds and fish will die because of man's wickedness in the last days.

Maybe, maybe not. Depends on their taste. They seem to like cow's fresh milk.
