These are getting more popular by the minute and I enjoy making them. The thing is, I want to be the best at making them. Does anyone know like the best "Movie Maker" program out there? If you watch alot of vids, you probably have heard of Excl, Sladeakakevin, Maxboison etc. If you haven't, these are famous runescape vid makers who know how to put a lot of effects in their videos. Also, does anyone want help me make these videos? I have a hypercam and know how to use it pretty well. - King SVM

I used to love playing RuneScape. I still do, and I really enjoy Excl's videos. There is obviously no "best" video program out there, but I have a few recommendations. Windows Movie Maker (if you have a PC, obviously) is probably one of the best free video editing software you can get out there. If you have a Mac, iMovie is also excellent for this. I have experience with both, and in my opinion, the iMovie is better, but if you have a PC, then Windows Movie Maker comes in at a close second. Other video editing software I can recommend, but cost money, include Sony Vegas Pro, Camtasia Studio 9, and Final Cut Express. They are all excellent and offer much, much more than the free ones do, but they are obviously pretty expensive. If I were you, I would just stick with the free ones. They offer a lot for their price (which is $0 lol).

I downloaded and checked out demos for a few different products. I ended up getting Vegas Studio + DVD Platinum. It's relatively inexpensive but provides what I want to do and did not have an inordinately steep learning curve. Of course, it depends what you need to and want to do. This package would be fine for home use and I'm even going to use it to attempt to produce some training videos for my company. There are certainly more complex tasks that this version won't handle. You need to look at all of the versions and find the specific things that you are interested in and base your choice on that. Price may be a concern as well. Look at the product comparisons and download and try the demos. One additional word - I was very interested in being able to add a narration soundtrack to a video. Some of the cheaper software, including Adobe Premiere Elements, does not allow you to record a soundtrack while watching the video. This made timing horrendously difficult. Vegas Studio + DVD will play the video track while recording your narration.
