Preserved fruit I love it

We have preserved fruit in many form. dried, pickled, roasted, jammed and many other form. I love to eat them all, until I was diagnose with diabetes.
Some say preserved fruits are not goo since the preservation process uses a lot of salt, sugar, vinegar and others....
In another case some preserved fruit was use to elevate some discomforts and minor irritation, such as take preserved lime skin or ginger for nausea or motion sickness.
And who have never taken Bread and jam with tea. Dawn to dusk it is haven.
Do you like preserved fruits. How do you have it.

i love pickles but since my mom my dad diagnose diabetes, high blood pressure and heart failure i start to think back what if because of my habit make me become like my parent...i don't believe all the 3 in 1 disease will become legacy just because they have one..so now i just eat if i feel want to eat..and of coarse a little exercise will do...

Hi. noorhizat. Yes, I do love preserved fruits. I just don't eat it as much. I love the pears, but not the peaches as much though. My grand dad's mom loved having preserved fruits into jars. And my father-in-law used to have some too that sat in a back room. I never ate any of it though because I thought that the fruits were unclean. I prefer the fresher fruits, they are so much more nutritious.

Fresh fruit are great, but there are times that you can only have preserved fruit and nothing else. You cannot take bread with fresh fruit. It must be bread and jam.....

I do have mixed fruit jam. i like them with bread or paratha. of course people with diabetes and who r thinking of loosing weight should not have such preserved fruits. they are laden with sugar and other artificial products.
u can have fresh apples, and guavas which are very good for diabetics.
