what's up with rebecca black anyway?

I did some research on this girl, because it all just looked too terrible to be true. It turns out that Rebecca Black is just a regular girl from California whose birthday present went terribly wrong. In California, there is a company that will, for a sum of $2,000, produce and direct a music video for you. Black's Mom bought her the package as a gift, and Rebecca went into a studio where they gave her a choice of two songs to perform, recorded it, and created a music video. She put it on youtube and iTunes mostly just so that her friends could see it. Of course, the internet being full of trolls as it is, the video was immediately seized by the YT community. Traffic became so heavy that news stations began reporting on it, and now some poor thirteen-year-old girl who just wanted to have some fun has received thousands and thousands of horrible comments talking her down for trying to be a singer. At first, I was pretty blown away by the terribleness of the video, too, but now that I know where it comes from, I just feel sorry for the girl! Apparently she's really upset about the whole deal - I doubt she'll be going into the music business anytime soon.

I don;t know why everybody's hating her. I just looked her up in youtube, well, yeah, she isn't awesome or anything, but I don't get why people hate her so much
