Familiarity breeds contempt. This authur, actress and producer(Annabelle Gurwitch)was on Real Time this morning talking about her book on marriage. They are saying that people are having to stay in their marriages because the real estate is so tanked that none are selling. And a funny thing she brought out too was that people are living longer. You don't normally go into marriage realizing that you are in it for literally an ETERNITY. Makes sense. Any thoughts?

I think that most people want it to be an eternity in the beginning and then may come to realize just how long that might be. I can see how there can be extra considerations where the home sales go..but if they really have the heart set on leaving..I think that most people find a way.

That's just what I was getting at. Now people live longer so 'an eternity' is much longer.

It is for eterrnity if its your soul mate but there are alot od years to get thru and learning how to live with a person that might get in to your space sometimes. My last one was and is for enernity for I know he is waiting for me on the other side!

It was a satire and since people are living longer an eternity is much longer now.

I believed so,marriage and sleeping with an enemy. Though some couples are more likely to be of good friends, but there are times that petty quarrels can not be avoided,so...it's like sleeping with your enemy (whew, make sense) Marriage is a bond, but some people played with it,and forget the real essence of the wedding vows.

It is one thing that is black and white. Good or bad.
