Well, things do seem a little awkward because of the fact that we in all four were told to go out of the college regualr class for eating a piece pf chocolate on behalf of a student's birthday treat, what a shame huh! The teacher present in the class was a lineant one, yet we had to go out of the calss as she left her linenacy and spoke to us with a bit of rxtar courage, we then agreed to her request in a way.
The attendance will be cut by her, she says and as per our college rules when a period's attendance is cut short. Then the hald days attendance is all gone,

What a shame that your professor has this kind of attitude about eating while learning. I,too,am a college students and I can't think of one of my professors that has a problem with the students eating in the class. Sometime the noise from the rattling chips bags can be a little too much, but they never put any students out.
Since you are in college, practically adults, I don't see the harm in eating, especially a piece chocolate to celebrate a birthday. Well, now that you know how to act in your professor class, just do it and get through the class.

If you are a freshman, just coming from high school, I could see the professors being a little restrictive, but as a seasoned adult you should be treated as such. The best thing to do in this case is to just follow the rule.

Nope, not a freshman one would say,yet the rules are a little strict in here. Not just this incident I would put light on but similar such experiences not to me indeed but many out there is a same for college students like us.
Following rule is after the conclusion the best thing to do, isn't. Rules as I have heard is "Meant to be broken" but when thought with a little sense and smartness, follow is to avoid troubles, huh!

Yeah! its just a shame actually, many of the professor's behave as so immaturely and makes us feel just like kids out there in the Kinder garden. That teacher of the class didn't think of the situation of a Birthday at hand and made her decision to tell us to go out.
After a little argue we left, wisely enough. This is good example that the rattling sound of the crispy chips in the class, but our institutional rules won't go this far.
The regularity and discipline these days that all the colleges and schools following are meant to teach all good manners with character moulding, yet all they forget is that life needs a little enjoyment and fun to keep the happiness in life, none should curb it for the only purpose of the 2 mentioned.

OMG, still these kind of punishments are there? When i did my college some 14 years back we were even suspended for a week for celebrating friendship day and spilling cake on the board. But even my teacher was polite, but unfortunate was our Principal was on his rounds. And we got caught and got suspended. They are right on their way..but those were cute funs and sweet memories of young days. You can recollect after some years as fun-filled memories.

In this part of the world this s like still followed with all its grace,I must say.
The suspension for you was really unlucky. Teacher being polite but the principal being rude is the case mostly, yet the mere opposite can also be a probability. The things get transformed into memories but when these happen none think of it an incident acted for making it an memory, huh!
This part of life is filled with all types of emotions. I would say happiness and sadness is all that we make and not always a responsibility of others, indeed huh!

That prof wasn't lenient at all. He was very strict. When I was still studying, our profs didn't mind us eating in the room as long as it wasn't a full meal, though we're not allowed to eat inside classrooms. Haha

The professor by her nature wasn't strict but we were amazed to see her change suddenly. I must say that the teachers are by all means of regular followers of their own institutional policies but they also have their own choices. When students don't follow some small rules on behalf of all that is needed, then also the teachers have a right to punish the student or not.
A small or a worthy punishment can be given to the students depending upon the mindset.

Why didnt you just eat the chocolate outside?
i had a similar experience like this. I ate chocolate inside my classroom while my prof was looking at the board he suddenly turned around while i had the chocolate on my hand, I waited for him to look back on the board so I could eat the piece which was already melting on my hand, but he didnt turn around until the end of the class so I had to endure the rest of the class with sticky chocolate in my hand.

The thing is that the chocolate was on behalf of a friend's birthday treat and the chocolate at our hands were really tempting. The teacher just changed her attitude and got a little angry. Not just our action but due to the other students also making a lot of noise also had made her a little go crazy. Anyway we didn't spoil her mood any further and went out, to the library from where I started this discussion to be frank, huh!
Well all these are common in these college days for sure, isn't.
In your case, if the professor had caught you then the advising from their part would be truly annoying in front of the whole class.

I think most teachers will do this only because of the fact that they need to keep their classrooms clean. Most schools have a "No eating in class" rule and some teachers even go as far as to post a sign in the classroom, or point to it as she is writing you up for detention. I think it's funny that you got kicked out for eating a piece of chocolate, but as I assume, you are probably concerned with your attendance as you should be.
I however probably would have brought chocolate more often if I knew that was all I needed to do to get kicked out of class , I was a bad kid though and I totally regret not going everyday. It's so much harder to learn what you missed out on!

The college and schools all are suppose to have such rules for good only, yet we the students are all part of it in every way imaginable. The no eating policy wouldn't restrict we guys from stop eating such wonderful and tasty piece of chocolates. The attendance is a matter of really big concern. The lack of attendance results in excessive fine and thus money gets going on and on for our pockets. The pocket money is what I spend in for the matters like fine or any other small expenses related to college, I must say.
The thought form you that you were a naughty kid at school would make you laugh thinking of the numerous pranks that you would have played in your those days, when you recollect it any time in life, such as these time's when you read this discussion, is it not!

hi there,
when i was in grade school, the teacher would make me SQUAT the whole class (1 hour) inside the classroom for not doing my home work. but when i was in high school, when i don't have my home work, the teacher would make me stay outside of the class room for the whole class period. annnnnnd when i was in college the professor would make me stand the whole class period for the same reason too. i don't know what was going on in my head but i guess i was just very hard headed but for some reason, we were always allowed to eat in class since the teachers understand how boring it is sometimes and also they know that sometimes, the subject can be very draining to us too. but i think i find your experience funny, it is a memorable experience hehehehe
