These are really scary times, as predicted and written in the Bible.

i think for QC it is quite light, intensity 3 or 4. I am not sure.
Anyway, you are right. There are many false prophets now. They are also giving a specific time of judgment, like many are saying that 2012 it is. We should always open our eyes to the true God and not follow these people.

I just got a text message from my husband that the DOLE building in Intramuros was rocked by an earthquake late afternoon/early evening. I wonder how Filipinos will respond if we got hit with a quake as strong as what hit Japan? Will we display the same selfless concern for others or will we look out only for our own interests?

My dear Staria, by now you know me and my thots on preparedness...and I wish to share, YOU must be safe, YOU must be able to take care of yourself..BEFORE you can help some-one else! YOU ARE actually helping them, by first helping yourself!
For many years, (14) I was a paramedic..and one of the very first things we learned was..."is the scene safe?" If you are not safe and well, you cannot be of any help to someone else. This is one time, it is important that you are selfish, you can't be good to others, unless you have been good to yourself!
Please take care, my friends!

@blungel: exactly, i wonder too how we will respond in times of danger. we saw how the Japanese people handled it, they are still composed in the midst of danger.
@both: it is true to some will be selfish, i believe that. they will think about their own benefit first. though, it is quite normal that you think about your own survival and your family first but we should at least extend a helping hand for those who are really in need. no one will help us but our fellowmen.
we have seen how ondoy reflected the "bayanihan" or unity of Filipinos, I hope that everyone will know how to help when a disaster like an earthquake hit us badly.

So many earthquakes indeed. I feel we are more and more unsafe now. 10 years before, it is very rare to hear serious flood or earthquakes, but in recent years, small and big earthquake are so common here and there. What is wrong with our planet?

So what I overheard in the sari-sari store here in our place when I replenished my cellphone with credits was true and not just a hearsay.
I didn't felt it. Too bad. Maybe it was just mild here in our place, I'm staying in Pampanga and at around 6-7pm this evening, I'm busy doing my work online so I was not really focus on what is happening around me.
I hope no one got hurt. God bless us all.

I hope it's not a precedent to a stronger one and hope it does not hit our big and highly populated cities, wonder how our buildings can withstand an intensity 8 or 9,not to mention the fires that might break out in the informal settlers area and the Pandacan oil depot. We have a ratio of 1 fire truck for every 50 thousand people, not to mention that our ladders can only reach ten stories. Let's just pray, be prepared and hope government starts upgrading equipment while there is still time and not act when disaster strikes already.

That's one major thing that the govt should think about. I think they are already assessing the possible damages and those buildings that are 15 yrs old and more. They are already checking bridges too and sadly many needs rebuilding and some needs retrofitting, but it may take a while. These things are already happening but the govt is only acting now! Sigh!

Staria...good morning...STAY SAFE....but get prepared, dear girl! There seems to incessant activity in the Pacific Rim of Fire, of which all the affected areas are in! We really must heed what is going on! Almost 5 weeks ago, we had one here of 5.9, the epicentre only 3 miles from here! It shook me up..and woke me up, and now the "ring" seems to be active, we must pay attention. I am truly sorry, you are experiencing this activity..but please heed, as it may lead to more serious shakes. I truly pray that this all settles down soon! Take care!

Good morning, dear! Listening to news, and hearing of another 6 in Japan!
I am, when I get home from work this morning...going to find the link to our website for Emergency B.C., and sent it to you, so that you have a preparedness guideline! It is a very good plan! Even if you gleen just a little info from it, it gives you a wee bit of security. We are tremendously aware of earthquakes here in B.C.
At times, I feel a little helpless, too...as the Island that I live on is very small, 17 miles long, 5 miles wide at the widest...and we are serviced by Ferries only. In the wake of the last Tsunami..we had NO ferry service. We are stuck here, so we really DO have to have a contingency plan, as evacuation from here would be impossible. I will PM you with that website!

That is really scarey. We have an epicenter near where I live here in the Northwest. Makes me not alittle nervous. I wish the guys in the know would get after it and tell us if we are in trouble or not. Don't know where we'd go. Even my friend in Oklahoma would probably be hit when and if it erupts. We will probably be surprised like Japan was. And they have been saying for along time that they were in trouble. Just didn't know when.

We all need to prepare even if there's no warning. Earthquakes are really hard to predict. We have I think two fault lines that runs thru the nothern part of PH and my family is living between two faults and I am worried about them.
Of course I am worried for our safety too, cos if these faults move, we will be able to feel the tremors too.

Yes! A cousin of mine, as soon as she notices there´s an earthquake she runs out of the building.
I´ve read of some psychologist helping children to recover from earthquake traumas. Our mind is like an USB, it records everything. Isn´t it?
Well indeed USB are like our minds. LoL
Blessings!...

Yup! You right, friend. We need to prepare because we don't know when the calamities are coming in...
Don't be worry because all of those things must be happen...that's the bible said. Because the end of the world is near and all those things are sign for the second coming of our dear savior

Although it might seem like the end of the world is near, I just hope that people take this for what it is. As a warning! That earthquakes are a natural occurence. And the human race would learn to cope with earthquakes by building structures that are earthquake-proof.
Sad that a lot people have to perish though in Japan, with the earthquake and the tsunami.

yeah, this could really be a learning lesson. Here in PH they assessed the damage that an earthquake may cause us and it may damage the whole metro! Meaning-damaged roads/building/houses, no water/electricity. Major blackout! and that's only some of what's to happen.

Much like the human body, our earth has effects from events...and yes it can be frightening.
Hopefully soon the earth will 'settle down' and allow us time to adjust, repair and rebuild.

Earthquakes, war, tsunami those are the signs that end of the the world is fast-approaching according the prophecy as stated in the bible when earthquake happens and follows by blocks of ice falling above from the sky and people angry to God for those calamities, the hardship of living that are the signs that Jesus is coming.
