This is something we all are afraid of, but this time it was my turn.
The Saturday at the evening my internet shut down, so I tried to reset the modem and wait, the usual. But when I wanted to Google something, I was surprised with a redirection from my ISP telling me that, due to an unpaid invoice, my account was disabled and so all my internet access!!!
Finding out the reasons for that, I reached at the problem: my mom forgot to pay the bill. I hated her for some moments.
So I was without any internet at all and no chance of fix it, since it was on weekend. I take the task at the morning to pay the pending bill and get my service reconnected and finally when I came home from work found my internet working again. And learned to not trust on others to do really important things to me.
In the disconnected weekend, I used the time to play some games and finishing configuring my Windows 7 to make it usable so it wasn't a total waste after all. But all my online earnings for those days are gone forever, more than $5 summing up all the sites I didn't click/posted/uploaded I guess.

Yikes and I can sympathize with you for sure. In February I had no connection for 9 days but not because of the bill our building cut off ours in error while connecting someone else. Because I only work online with IT, I lost hundreds and assignments that I can't get back. I could not go to internet cafe's because of the type of equipment I use. So to date I am still suffering my losses.
Maybe place some form of reminders so this does not happen again and I am sure you don't me hate with your mother's forgetfulness, perhaps you were just a bit mad.
All is well now so happy internet surfing to you!
