so many fake profiles on facebook

hi manoj, That is true there are lots of fake profiles in facebook whatever their purpose for sure it's not good that's why i don't just add people there even we are bumping each other in a common site i should know them first. happy mylotting

You right, friend. There are many fake profiles in facebook. We don't know about the reason but I think they do it mistakenly and a good one profile...other people create two or three account to hide something in their wife,husband, boyfriend, and girlfriend...and stay their self single or no commitment

Hi dear, Internet is a place where people do whatever they do they feel like. Also, facebook is one place where people just get into it and do whatever things they like also. It is true that people have no control or check in any level or any stage and so that some are purposively do all trial and error works over there. A person may be having a real profile and may a number of fake ones to 'play around' with it. Even I have one with real details and I don't find any mess is required to do with it and also I am not a frequent user of the same and didn't find any extra attraction on it. Thank-s

Because they only want to sell somethings, or getting referrals for their sites. They do not really want to be friends. Unfortunately some of them have really bad purpose like to meet unsuspecting girls and rape them.

Yes I agree with you not only in facebook but also in other site like orkut, yahoo, rediff etc. At the time of chatting in rediffbol messenger some persons used girls name and chat with girls I found some due to chatting because my habit ask more and more question then immediately I pick yes you are not girl you are a boy then the chat person is agree with me. I dont know why the people make this this is not fair. They cheat with girl

Hi manoj.. Like many other social networks fb also contains tons of fake profiles unfortunately.. If a profile is lengthy and detailed,then you can be sure that it is a real person. Fake profile creators wont have time to create long and interesting profile.....

How can you tell it is a fake profile. Is there a reason people do this. I really don't "get" Facebook. Sure it's good to connect with people but for the rest of it it's just a lot of blaaaahh! in my humble opinion.

Oh yes Manojkrs. When we first were inscribed alot of request came to my husband. We just ignored them. It´s like the street, you may see too many people, but you just talk to a very few that you know well. Isn´t it? Blessings!... Dainy

Better not add people that you don't personally know or at least your friend knows the person. There are lots of fake profile not only in fb but with any social sites where people can harm other. Be careful..enjoy social site but be alert.

You are doing the right thing by searching manojkrs. You just do not know what the intentions are. I hope you are not adding random people because too many are seriously out to hurt and cause harm. Do you have your profile open to the public?

hi, i know many people who did that creating fake profiles and not fitted to there information,because every people have their own reason why they create fake profiles,and even me created twice a fake profiles.

Just ignore them, they'll get tired of harassing you soon. You can always remove them from your friends list anytime.

Yes there are many people with fake facebook profiles and sending you friend request and stuffs. I don't know why they do that though. On facebook I only have people I know there, I reject people's request if I don't know or have a clue who they are.

Well for me fake profiles are okay for me.. As long as they don't send scams and viruses. And they are not created just to defame or comment bad on other people. some fake accounts are made to quarrel another person.. and i hate that the most...

The reason why there are so many fake profiles on Facebook, is because, Facebook does not limit how many accounts a person can create, whether they are new or an current member. This is all the reason for someone to make fake profiles just so that they can do whatever they have intended to do. It is very sad, but that is how many people are on Facebook. If you notice someone doing this, then delete them as a friend and block them. Also, you can report the spamming and such to the Facebook management, as abuse. You don't have to put up with this if you choose not to. I know that I wouldn't, not even for one second.

Many people have a fake profile for playing games. They don't want it associated with their real name. It can hurt their employment prospects in the future. Other people are very active in causes and don't want to bother people they see in real life or don't want to have toscreen what they post about their family from the people interested in their cause. Others just like to chat about issues that maybe their family doesn't know about. A very few of the fakes are scammers and bad people. Most just want some privacy.

I don't think I know what you mean by fake profiles? like, people using celebs pics for their defaulty or having no pics at all? either way, if you don't know a person or just don't want to add it, you don't have too. I always request users without pics tho, so nothing easier xD

They do not want to reveal their true age and status. They do not want to be caught by their flings so the address is not exact. They are at the back of avatars to hide their face eaten up by time. their only purpose is to reach those they want to reach but they themselves do not want to be reached.

Yes, there are a lot of fake profiles in facebook, and not just facebook, other sites too. there are also other accounts with pictures which she just copied from other person's picture. That's really a turn off. For me I make sure that i know that person first before approving the person's invite. It's okay if i don't have too much friends in the list, atleast it's not fake. Some people are just bad and they want to do illegal things just for self- interest, and yes, we all know that facebook is really growing because of it's applications too.
