It was in a class discussion on if you think abortion should be allowed or not. And it was discussed that under the right circumstances, it should be allowed. Such as they were born with a health problem, parents are unfit to take care of them, etc.. What do you think?

I think abortion should be legal and available at no cost in somecases such as rape, incest or danger of mother. But each person should also have the possibility of choosing what is best for her. This is the kind of legistation where only women should vote as it is their body. I would not recomend an abortion in general but there are exceptions to every rule.

In a cause of rape and stuff, if the baby can be born perfectly normal then shouldn't it just be put up for adoption? Personally I think abortion should only be available if there is something physically wrong with the baby, that would keep it from being able to do most things. Such as no arms and legs, or something. And we know it's their body, but there is a living person inside of it. It's a separate life that that woman, and another person, created.

I think that this should be a personal choice, as I said before. You accept abortion if there´s something physically wrong with the baby. Yet noone can check if a baby, any baby, is physically perfect. We can only scan if there are missing parts. From that point of view, abortion must be a no-no because its not fair to decide that a no limb baby is less worthy of living than a mentally ill fetus that can´t be seen until he is born or even later. I don´t think that unwanted babies should be born by law and then put into adoption. It is untrue that all unwanted babies get loving adoptive parents. If it were so, we wouldn´t have undernourished children everywhere, even in rich countries. Life is a struggle: I think the biological mother should have her say with what is a part of her body for 9 months.

I'm saying if there is something completely wrong with the baby. A missing hand or foot can be okay, but if there is just a head and body, then yeah. Not all adopted babies go to a good home, but atleast they have a place to go. And as for the rest, I can't come up with anything to say, haha.

No one in this earth have the rights to do such thing. Even if discussed in positive circumstances. GOD created man and hes the only one that can get back the life that he gave us.. No to abortion.. Lets gave the child a chance to see the world......

I could probably go with "what if" all day.. Is there any circumstances that you would think abortion would be appropriate?

What if they were born without being able to see, hear, speak or all of the three? or if they had missing limbs, or without the ability to use the ones they have. Such things like that?

It's really a case by case issue. There's already too many kids in the adoption/foster care area so just saying a baby could be adopted instead isn't necessarily a good answer. There simply aren't enough capable homes. Most young mothers aren't in a good situation to raise a kid either. How's a girl who's still in school & living with her parents supposed to continue her education & care for the child while being unemployed? Most can't, they're lives are effectively over & they end up resenting the child for it. Would that be a good life for either? There's also the human population to consider. We're already getting to the point where resourses are running thin. Do we really need all these extra mouths around as well? While abortion is never a good thing at times it's the lesser of 2 evils.

That's what a couple of kids were saying. They were saying that there is already too much people in the world, and in foster homes. So it's survival of the fittest. The way nature intended. Its not a positive thought, but a logical one.

Abortion is not an option for me at least. There are other alternative to abortion, lets say adoption. So I say no to abortion, I think its wrong to kill only God should have the right to make a life and take a life. I understand what you mean about unfit parents, but we still have parents today with children who are unfit. So there is was adoption comes in.

That's kinda the opinion I had. If it's just the parents that don't want the kid, then adoption should be a must. But what if something was wrong with the child to where it couldn't live a normal life?
