Based from your experience, How long did it take you before you finally got that job offer? I have had a lot of times where i applied for jobs, attended interviews and i can say about 65% of the time i am successful... in my first job, it took me 1 month before i got my first job, and then from then on before i resign, i usually am looking for jobs even if i am still employed. hehe my bf's brother though lost his job in the government and it took him a few months before he got a work... luckily after about 10 months, he's got a job now... how about you? have you had problems applying for a job?

I don't know...I haven't landed one yet. Okay, so there was one offer after applying to about 12 places last year. However, I refused to take it as it required training which might have taken me out of state for a month. As a mother and a wife I just couldn't risk being away from my family that long... Since then I've been applying to a lot more jobs. In fact, I've applied to 150 places this year alone (some of those were reapplications). I haven't had an offer yet, although I did have a few interviews. As it is I am waiting on one job to see if I get called in for an interview this Friday. I'm submitting more applications while I wait. I have to say had I known what I know now I would have snagged up that one I'd been offered...even if it meant being away from my family. Because at least I'd be working already and there'd be a paycheck coming in... Oh well, can't change the past. I just have to keep on applying until I'm able to get a job. Happy mylotting!

I got my first job that is an office job 2 months but after that everywhere I go for an interview there seems unlimited offer for me to get one. I just got to choose which one I want to work for. I am not showing off but its true that happens to me for about 10 years already.

Work to earn a living - Job offers varies but really can change ones life.
I got my job offer and job interviews 3months before i graduate since i was the top10 students in my local university. However it was not like those big fancy international company but just local company listed in the share market and such which is a subcontractor suppling custom made program application for some jap company in my country. It was hard and have to relearn everything in new working world.

So far, I got hired for all my jobs on the spot during interviews except one that I had to go for a second interview. I think having years of experience in a position that you are applying for is important as most companies will hire based on your experience.

I think that the longest that I have been without work is about a month. However I do have friends that have been without work for 7 months at a time. A lot of them are in the Technology field. Times are tough all over but man could you imaging being out of a job for that long.

When I looked for jobs it took me weeks to get each one. AS a result when I got married, I decided to stay at home and raise my family. Later on I did telemarketing from home and later on delivered fliers. That was at a time when they could lay you off for any reason even if you did the job well. I guess I was not suited for working out of the home, more like for doing creative work on my own. I do love to write although I suspect I might have been good as a classical singer.

I am now in my second job. My first job was to work as a trainee pharmacist in a pharmacy after my graduation, which lasted for a period of 1 year. After my traineeship ended, my previous employer did not extend my contract there, so I had to look for a new job. My contract as a trainee pharmacist ended in January 2010, and after numerous job applications here and there, I finally managed to secure a full-time pharmacist job in May 2010. So it took me almost 5 months to land the second job. It honestly wasn't easy getting a new job because of two reasons; firstly, because of my lack of experience (which most employers are craving for these days) and secondly, due to the oversupply of pharmacists in the country where I am working now. It was really a relief and a blessing to get a new job after just 5 months because to be frank, I expected the search to go on for longer than that. Anyway, I am glad to be where I am now and I look forward to continuing my second job (I still have another year to go on the contract ).

I believe that there are people lucky for having a job. I can say that i am too have a little luck about that because if i applied it took a months before i got it. But happy to those who easily got this and let then enjoy what t hey got. Maybe because they are really the guts when they applied. And one more thing is they are really confident. This attitude is important when applying for a job we applied because during interview they looked for that if the applicant is really fit for that job they are offering. First now here in our country the BPO industry is no.1 and most of the open position are call centers. Applicants come and go trying their luck in this industry. So really hard to pass the first process if we are not confident because at the first place they are testing the competent we had plus the other factors, and many got failed on that. I am really prayed for those who are job seekers hope they got the job fitted for them.

The only job I ever had and still have is being a stylist in one clothing store. I am 20 so don't judge :). I went for an interview and was hired that day also. I would love to brag that it was because I was so good and perfect that's why they hired me immediately but the thing is they were doing hiring quickly because the last stylist resigned and they don't have a back up. I like my job though. The salary is good and I get employee discounts. I help people to look good also. I do have those occasional snotty customers but hey that is part of the job.

I think my first job is a little harder, the others are just OK for me. It's just because as i graduated from university, with no experience it's hard to find a fit job. Many companies ask for several years experience. But after my first job, to apply for a job is easy for me. I think it's because my major is easy to find a job and my experience.
