When i was in college i went to watch a movie alone in the theater. The movie was Titanic and because i was too busy with my class schedule i wasn't able to watch it along with my friends or my sister. So when i decided to go and watch it, all of them have seen it already and they thought it impractical to watch again. So i went alone and inside the theater, i tried to look for a seat that is beside another woman. I didn't want anybody to think that i was alone, because a man might seat beside me and do some horrible things. So i pretended to be with another girl who was actually a stranger to me.

yes, i watched a movie in a theater all alone and it was a jodie foster movie with a young kristen stewart. i forgot the title already but it was about their house that robbers got into where they took refuge in a secret room. i was about to do something else that day and was cancelled. luckily i was in the mall that time and since the silence of the lambs was still my favorite then i took the opportunity to watch another jodie foster movie.

It's enjoyabe to watch a film or two with other people. you have a chance to bounce your viewpoints of the film off on each other. it also can be rewarding just to have a chance to watch a movie by yourself. sometimes you will see things in a movie when you watch it alone than when you had the distraction of others around you.

I always go to movies with my friends or my partner. I have never thought of going to movie alone. After reading your post, i think i might try watching movie in a theatre alone. It seems quite weird to me but i might give it a go someday. Cheerz

I'm a widow who doesn't like going to movie theaters!!! So, I either watch movies on Video on Demand, Netflix, Redbox, or one of the cable movie channels. I watch movies by myself ALL the time & no longer think anything of it!!! Actually, I've gotten to where I prefer watching them alone as I can laugh when I want to & as loud as I want to. I can also cry when I feel the need!!! There was a period of time that I watched movies with one of my online friends. We'd turn to the same movie at the same time & text our comments to each other. I must admit that I did find that very enjoyable!!!

i haven't ever done this kind of thing. but you can pretend you are not alone in the cinema. cause no one else will find it on purpose. why did you have to care about what the others were thinking? just have fun!

You mean going to the theater alone ? No, i don't think i would do that. And if you are talking about watching a movie on TV or computer then i have, in fact i sometimes enjoy watching movies alone. Although i don't want to watch horror movies alone. lol. I don't know how is it going to be to watch a movie alone in the movie theater. I want some pretty girl to sit beside me!

I have tried watching a movie alone in a cinema or a movie theater. I think I've done it twice. It feels kind of awkward at first but the thing is I enjoy it a lot better than having a partner to watch it with. I still remember watching the first movie I watched on the big screen alone and it was Eclipse. It was some sort of a promise I made to myself that whatever happens, I have to watch the whole Twilight Saga on the big screen. It was so awkward at that time especially since the movie houses were filled with couples watching. But when I get a chance to watch a movie on my laptop, I usually watch it alone 'cause I enjoy it more. I just hate watching a movie with someone and see him feeling sleepy at a movie I am so excited to watch. It's kind of disappointing that's why I have opted to watch movies alone.

I love watching movies alone, I almost always do. More so on my computer then in the theatres. I can't watch movies, especially TV with other people. It doesn't effect me the same way and it is usually a private experience for me. I should mention it is my biggest passion in life next to music.

Hi. acey76. Yes, I am sure that I have watched a movie when I have been alone. It was fun, I can concentrate much better then. Watching a movie alone takes my mind away from thinking about being alone too. I really do enjoy the solitude.

Yeah, I do it all the time. Of course it's nice to watch a movie with friends or with someone because you would look forward to enjoying each other's company after the movie, like maybe go to a cafe or just have fun around the mall. I usually watch movies alone in the movie theater if I really wanted to watch the movie itself and my friends were busy at the moment, or when I just thought of watching it right there and then. There were a couple of times when I watched a movie because I needed to wait for someone, something, or just to pass the time for something else. It's really not a big deal if you're used to it. It might be awkward for the first few times but a movie theater is dark, no one would really recognize you, and you got there because of the movie itself and not anything else. That's just what I think anyway.^_^

Ha! That's a nice question because I think many people (and so do I) think that going to the cinema alone is a sad thing because it's perceived as a "social thing" you have to do with a bunch of people but I went alone twice and it wasn't so bad at all :D The first time I went to see "The silence of the lambs" maaany years ago. It was right after it won the Oscars and I was so thrilled about it that I stayed awake the all night (from Italy) watching the Oscars and one or two days after I ran to see it. The second time it was with the movie "Evita". I was supposed to go seeing it with a friend but she didn't get it was a musical and when I told her it was ALL songs with subtitles she said something like "If I wanted to read for 2 hours I would read a book!" (LOL! She was a kid at the time XD) So I was so disappointed that I went seeing it alone :D

i watching alomst all the movie along , sure it is going on my computer rather than cinema, well i reckon a simple comical horrible kind would be a good sharing with your mates whenever they laughing you laughing just contagious. i can't remember when is tha last time i did that watching a movie with friends plurals, not girlfriend when it's come to a more seriously and intellectual movie ,i prefer to watch it all by myself. it's more likely i'll do so . i recommand you to try watching alone , just get its different .
