Hi all, I was wondering if there is an interest suitable with grammar and linguistic matters. English is not my first language but I'm very curious about those kind of things... I check sites as dictionary.com or wordreference from time to time but here I couldn't find an interest like that. Did I miss it? Should I create one... or maybe those kind of things should be posted under "Questions and Answers" or some other interest? Thanks, Al

Thanks! With the first one I also learned that "better" is a verb too, haha! I didn't know (or remember) that :P

Try using the search engine under discussion and look for language. Hopefully you might find it there. Good luck!

I don't know if there's such an interest but you should realize that myLot is filled with english discussions and responses. You can learn here. You can also ask if your grammar is correct. There are a lot of americans and others that has english as their native language. Make full use of it and you'll learn english faster than you imagined.

Yes, that's for sure... but colloquial English is less formal and I'd like an interest with specific questions about grammar, maybe also from native English speakers with some doubts about their own language. That would be very interesting also for people that are learning because maybe we are not able to make those questions being not so advanced.

Well, you can start your own interest if you like.

English is not my first language also and I'm fascinated also with the American English as well. I've been reading and reading English articles on the net or in magazines to get myself familiar with the language. And being here in mylot have helped me a lot to polish more my English grammar and vocabulary. There is an interest here called Learn English, you can add it as one of your interests.

It's quite difficult to find an interest within dozens of interests. Here's one that I have in my list of interests, I don't remember how I found it: http://www.mylot.com/w/lists/4_64270/default.aspx English is not my first language either, but being a myLotter helped me become more confident in my English knowledge. I use the free on-line dictionary by Farlex: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/dictionary.htm and I recommend it heartily.

This site needs to make searching interests easier - maybe people would then post and search more. As it is, it's a total mess.
