The wife of my cousin was pregnant and after 7 months she has an emergency Ceasarian because she develop eclampsia. Her daughter was born as premature. We are so afraid with her situation. Until now, we don't know why she develops that?

High BP causes eclampsia. So next time low sodium diet should be a priority.

Eclampsia is really very dangerous. It has these symptoms, hypertension, edema, proteinuria and seizure. Emargency Ceasarian section is really important because the life of the baby is compromise inside the womb of the mother. There is not enough oxygen and blood that the baby is receiving inside because of the hypertension. During hypertension, there is a high pressure inside the blood vessel and so there is not enough blood going to the placenta and so the fetus inside is in great danger.
There are risk factors in eclampsia, it maybe that the mother is already hypertensive before becoming pregnant, or has diabetes, it maybe that she has hyperlipidemia before and also there are others factors. But eclampsia can be treated or resolved if the baby is born. If a woman is pregnant, she should really take good care of herself and so the baby. She should eat vegetables and fruits and limit intake of sweets and fatty foods. Taking vitamins are also essential because folate acid can prevent neural tube defects in babies. Exercising is also essential and taking good care of oneself. Going to Obsterician and having a consultations regularly is also good to monitor ones health!!!
