The Effects of Bullying

I was listening to the radio earlier and it was a really sad story and I though maybe we were over "set ups to fall" scenario's were people just attack one another without knowing it. I know that doesn't make much sense until you hear my example. Today on the radio there was a Lady Gaga ticket giveaway by John J and Rich. Parents would call in and set up their kids so that when JJ&Rich call the parent would stay silent and the kids would talk about their spring break. Well this concerned dad called in about his daughters 'slipping grades' and he wanted to know what she was up to. So they called the daughter and asked her what she was up to. The dad stayed silent the whole time like he was suppose to, and the daughter kept talking about the crazy parties she was going to during her spring break. Finally it became to much and the father spoke up. He said "I'm sick of hearing this don't come home to Utah, I don't ever want to see you again, call your mom because your not welcome in my home again." I'm sorry but that is brutal. All this for some stupid prank call. I can't stand to see stuff like this happen, I mean even with all our efforts to keep stuff like this from happening, efforts such as the Trevor project (www.thetrevorproject.org), it still is going on. What if this girl just gave up on life after being disowned? She obviously loves her parents I just don't understand how her dad could be so heartless, and even worse how this radio station can promote such hatred. I can't stand to listen to that station any more, which is sad because I used to love it.
