Don't you find it interesting that people respond so powerfully and intensely to negative news and much more reserved and conservatively to good news, even amazing news.......It begs us to wonder if many of us live in a "glass is half-empty" world. If you dwell in the negative, in the negative realities of the world, you will continue to get what you always see and have.......I am too much of an optimist for that, too much of a dreamer of a bigger and better world. What about you? Where do you dwell?

I guess it's because people would rather rant about bad stuff than the good stuff, don't you think?
People would like to give their opinion on why this is wrong and why that was uncalled for. People want others to know what they're thinking about the issue.
Some do it because it's like them saying "I told you so" or "I knew this was going to happen". Some do it because they want people to know that they are knowledgeable in the topic or to just simply have a discussion.
When it's about good news, no one will contest it's goodness, no one will find a different angle on the situation. Everyone accepts it's good news. There's no discussion there, so there aren't any powerful and intense responses.
For sure people know these good news and are very much elated over it, but there's just no discussion there. Good news tend to relax people too.

That`s very true. It`s like if the news reporters hear someone being killed or robbed or raped, its a great story! Not saying they shouldnt report that. If it helps getting the person responsible behind bars, then go for it. But like you said, when it comes to good wonderful news, it does feel like it`s being take for granted. People sometimes just "Meh" at it. I`m all for good news. As much as we cant stop the bad news. Just the way of life, I guess.

Dear friend,
I had heard lots of positive news, but at times those negative news makes much impact on people like fear, disgrace may be all those negative feelings too. I feel those positive news and positive talking could help a lot in getting the positive part of life.

I think it easy to get pulled in negative directions and led down negative paths so it is not that the negative is eliminated, it is how we choose to deal with and move forward. Watching the news can be like regurgitating all of the worse in the world over and over until you become numb to it and until you begin to believe that all of that negative is the truth.

Do you think anyone could rain on my parade??? It's only Liquid Sunshine!!! We all have the power to choose of what we value in life. Aren't the good, happy, joyful things much more important?? All the troubles work out somehow. In the meantime, see all the wonderful things all around us. Being Happy is so Easy!! It is merely a Choice!!

Maybe people follow the word, too good to be true and dont want to face the risk of being disappointed and such hence they keep good news in reserve and give it a doubt to protect from disappointment. It back to method of thinking whether the person is positive or negative or whether the person easy to give up or strive to improve things and such.Sometime is less tiring to accept bad news rather then going after good news and such.Good and bad news depends on the person perception and environment.Sometime bad news can be blessing in disguise.

I used to be positive everyday even there are challenges in my life I will welcome it positively because I believe there is a purpose in every challenge I had. I also believe that when you have positive feeling you will attract positive circumstance people and events but if you are in a negative feeling you will attract negative circumstance people and events. Every time you respond in watching negative news the more negative will come to your life.

yes, there is a law in the universe called the "law of attraction" which basically means that like attracts like......it does not state that challenges will not happen but it speaks to how you would like to live your life and how you respond to both the positive and negative that happens all around you.....Who do you choose to be? What do you choose to believe?

I used to be an optimist, and most of the time I am pretty well at peace with where I am. I do not listen to the news, it is pretty down. I enjoy good news when I hear it, and I generally do believe things will work out for the best.

I try not to dwell on anything, but to focus on positive things and the future. Learn from yesterday, live for today and plan for tomorrow.
I have always thought that it is disturbing that so many negative things are portrayed in the news. I firmly believe that is the main reason why so many people do so many bad things....to get publicly noticed. I think that if the media focused more on postive stories, and only shed a brief light on the bad things, there would be more people striving to do good for recognition.

There is a definite imbalance in what the media feeds the world. Most people do not think of this as a subtle programming but I do and it is harmful. I agree that if we could see more good that would encourage others in more constructive and beneficial ways.

I use to put a great deal of effort to bad news but found that there is no life unless we react stronger to good news. Hearing good news gives us a sense of hope, hearing bad news gives us a sense of sadness and sadness that can lead to depression.
So I try to be overly excited these day with good news, although I currently do not have a whole lot of good news I do concentrate on hoping and wishing for it. I have learned to simply await for the bad new and continue to say to myself, this too shall pass.

Yes, I like that and it is so true yet so simple. When storms come, do what you can, stand firm and believe that this too shall pass. I also try to glean a lesson from the experience, sometimes personal, sometimes societal. There is always a kernel of sunshine in the rain.

I look forward to good news, not bad-One of the many reasons why I do not watch the news(it is all murder this, murder that/instead of birth here, birth there....).
My theory is that "they" want people to be negative-because a negative society means more business for 'them'(selling medication for depression, health care for diseases, people buying 'junk' to feel better, etc etc...)
I am quite happy with just a simple roof over my head, a bed, and food and water- I don't really need that much more to be happy.. :D

What a positive outcome. My brother recently had a stroke and he is recovering quite nicely. I told him that he should stop reading all of the negative news in our newspapers and stop watching the news three times a day because of all of the negativity that is abound. There seems to be no such thing as balanced reporting.

You are right most of the news on TV and in the papers is bad news. And is seems as if the world has more bad than good news. We live in a world of opposites. Good and bad, black and white, up and down.- We wouldn't enjoy something good without knowing about the bad.-
But there is also the fact that we do not know if the thing we thought was bad ends up to be good.- Scientists found that we see what we look for.-
So we should all look for the good, the positive the things we really, really love.
You are right this will bring us the good we are looking for.
Unfortunately, most of us grew up with hearing don't do this, don't do that, you can get hurt, I am worrying about you, I hope you get through this o.k. etc.
This conditioning has to be overcome by many people before they are able to enjoy the good at all times.

I agree. You speak of the negative programming that we all endure in the name of love or as I think, in the name of teaching what you were taught......The programming is an endless cycle...Like "Don't get too excited, I don't want you to be disappointed or Hmmmmm, I don't know about that. Better play it safe." Interestingly, I think most of this is unconscious programming that many people follow along with.....with absolutely no clue.
