When my baby was newborn, I was scared to give him a bathe because I worried he would get a cold if I didn't do it fast enough and the weather was getting cold, I only bathed him 2 - 3 times a week. When I started to get a hang of it, I bathed more more times til now I give him a bath almost everyday.
My son likes to be bathed, when he is cranky, if I take him to bath, he will be happy camper.

I always made sure to have the room temperature warm and bathe them daily. I use Johnson baby soap so their skin would not be dry but a daily bathe for my babies was a must.
I figures with the pooping and daily perspiration I could not imagine waiting or skipping days, but that was me.

Yeah... I don'r feel alright about not washing the little bum.
I turn on the heat before I take him in to bath.

I bathed my baby once a day. That was just right. Babies are into everything and get dirty easy.

He is 6 months right now, he is not crawling yet all over the place yet so I can just wipe his face and fingers in the morning and night when it is too cold to give him a bath.

Hi. mermaidivy. When my children were babies, I bathed them at least one to two times in a day. Especially, when it was very warm outside. When it was very cold outside, I would bathe them once a day. And I made sure that they stayed indoors. I washed them up so good until their bath lasted them a very long time throughout the entire day. My kids were all afraid of the water when they were born. Now they enjoy taking baths all of the time! I hope that your son will enjoy taking his bath.

I did just like you, when my children were born, I used to bath them 2 or 3 times a week. If they were cold, just once. Even the doctor pointed me it out. lol. Between the 2 and 9 months three of four times a week. And after the year, almost daily. =) Blessings!... Dainy

I did it differently with my two babies. With my first daughter I was very scared, was sure I´d drown her and all that stuff (I was 19 years old). I bathed her a couple of day a week. It did not matter much as she was born in Winter. With my second daughter I had more experience and less time. So I washed her in the sink from waits down every time I changed her diapers and did a sort of bathing with no soap once a day to refresh her. She was born in the end of Spring so days were warmer.
You are right: babies love to be washed. But mine did not like to have their hair washed. Sometimes, when they were older, I had to tell them in Summer that they smelled like an unkept dog in order to get them to wash

I thought he was so fragile that I was s o slow to take off and put on his clothes... I worry about I would get him cold and stuff. Once I started doing it more often, it is easy and fun. I like to see him not wearing clothes, can't wait until the summer comes, so I can see his meaty arms and legs haha, wnat to take a bite!

I suppose one has to learn how to be a mother, but there´s no book that says exactly what we want to know . Take care and have fun: I´m still having fun with being a mother and my babies are probably a lot older than you.

When my son was a newborn I bathed him 1-2 times a week. But now his 6 months old its part of our bed time schedual. So he now gets one every night. I dont always use soap though. Every 3 days I will wash his hair inless he gets food in it :)

I bath him before the evening, I wonder if it would be better if I bath him right before bed?

My children have sensitive skin. Bathing them daily was a problem for their skin. SO now that they are older, I bathe them every other day. And I apply lotion so they don't really have an issue.

My baby has sensitive skin too, I need to put aquaphor lotion on him to make him feel better most of the time when he gets some rash.

hello ivy,
When my kids are baby,i also bath them 2-3 times a week when they're just a month old.
But when my baby reaches 2 months,i bathed them everyday, esp when the weather is hot,or during summer time.
It's fun to bath babies...they're so fragile, cute and lovable

Hi,
Since my son was born, I always bath him at least
once a day.it does help to keep him stay clean and avoid
having any rashes on his body.Due to hot weather in my
country, I have to keep him stay fresh and clean all the time.
IN case he has a fever or flu, then only I will wipe
clean his body,it means no bath for him till he is
fully recovered.
Once he reached 2 years old, sometimes I will bath him
twice a day due to very hot weather.

Well in my country India and in my state, where most of the time its hot, we have to bathe our babies everyday. I use to bathe my new born in warm water till a yr during all seasons.then warm water only during rainy or winter season. there are places in India where the climate is cold through out the year. may be in such places new borns can be just given sponge bath and after a yr ,bath every 2 days. we need to just take care of infections due to fungus and dirt. so proper powdering and lotions will do the job.

I make sure I at least wash his littlb um though because he pooped a lot when he was newborn so I didn't want him to get any infection as you said.

Three times daily's that normal for baby and adults but if you feel that it's to difficult or to much you can reduce it to 2 time a day

3 times daily? I think it will be way too much for a baby because it will dry out their skin then they might get rash from it, even for adult I think it's too much, maybe 2 times aday in the summer though.

My children get baths every other day unless they are sick. The I skip it in the colder months. They get a bath each night if they are dirty from playing outside when its summer time. My daughter takes a shower pretty much every night and my son once a week! I recommend more but I think its a phase.

I think it is most important to wash their bum even though in the winter so they don't get uncomfortable or rash.
