Hi everyone,
As some of you know, I had my first chemotherapy session on Monday. I was doing ok yesterday, but today I woke up with joint pain, mostly in my ankles and now moving into my knees. I am also very tired and it is hard to get anything done right now. I purchased two new PTC sites last night and worked on getting those ready earlier today, but now I don't know when I will have the energy to get them up and running. I really miss the last one I had and just wanted to get back into the business. I can't do much right now except to sit on the computer since it hurts to walk or move in general. I know in a few days this will get better, but for the next couple of days I will be miseralbe. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do for the chemo induced joint pain? I still have some of the pain killers left over from surgery, but so far the one I took hasn't helped much yet. Thanks for any help I can get.

I have deep pity on you.Chemotherapy has a great side effects.I think your joint pain certainly has something to do with it.It is that jade and stone are burned together-destruction of good and bad alike. In terms of western medicine people who suffer from cancer have no choice but to do it.Differ from the allopathy of western medicine in this respect the TCM-traditional Chinese medicine advocates the treatments of strengthening healthy qi(life energy)to eliminate pathogenic factors. The patient can suffer a little less in treatment.

I don't know much about traditional Chinese medicine. It sounds like it might help, but I don't know how it does it. Does it actually kill the cancer? I think I would like to learn more.

The TCM pays stress on regulating, improving body's immunity that is innate,in a word,It brings our body's positive factor into play. However I'm not a doctor of TCM but a pharmacist ,for further details please ask a doctor of TCM for advice.

It seems like that would be easier to do if I was back in China, but I will ask around here in town. Thanks.

I knew the pain was going to happen and all they suggested was tylenol or ibuprofen neither of which helped in the past. It is possible that the reason it didn't work was that they were outdated, but my brother never bothered to get rid of his old stuff.

I think this might help you... We all know that the best medicine is laughter or being happy everyday by thinking that you are better. It sounds weird but most of the people I read on books or saw in television having that kind of pain especially cancer tried to do it, anyway there is nothing wrong doing that. Everyday they tend to laugh and be happy they just watch happy movies and entertained themselves by doing things they love and a miracle came they healed. Our body has the ability to heal any kinds of pains and diseases. Being Happy and having full of hope everyday gives us energy to do what we want. :)

I would call your oncologist and ask them what you can do about it. I know my MIL is still on pain pills and her last chemo was in '09. But she also had to have surgery to remove the tumor so I don't know specifically why but she's been on pain pills ever since.

I had asked the nurse before I left on Monday because I knew it was going to happen since it happened the last time. All she could say was to use ibuprofin or tylenol. When I used those before, they did nothing. Even the high powered pain pill have little effect on the pain. I will probably call tomorrow if it is too bad.
