hi guys i just first would like to say all of you hi becouse i wasnt there for a long time anyway i wanted say that i just came here today after a long time and saw that nothing changed in this site i m not saying this to specific person so dont be offended but at least half of the discussions created here and generally most of them created by newbies to this site seems to me like its just been created to how can i post most messages to earn most money from that site . i will admit. i did the same thing when i registered 3 years ago. but from my opinion this site should be more like its priority should be interesting discussions so and secondly then earning money could be counted as a plus of this site. earning money couldnt be first priority of this site i m just curious about it please nobody would get offended i m not saying this to specific person but from what i ve seen there is some discussions almost senseless maybe i cant call them useless because something that may seem useless to me might seem useful to another person but i would like to hear mylot users comments about that happy mylottings goodnight

There are several things that we can (and should) do to try to improve the quality of discussion here. First, of course, is to know and understand and follow the Guidelines ourselves and to set a good example by trying to post good quality discussions. Never forget that a discussion isn't a discussion until it has three things: 1) A topic which is likely to be interesting to a number of people and actively encourages good quality, descriptive, original and informative responses. 2) At least one response (but, of course, preferably more) which is of good quality (as above). 3) Good quality, descriptive, original and informative comments on the responses which further the discussion in some way. Just saying 'Thanks for responding' or 'Very interesting' does NOT further the discussion at all! Secondly, once one feels confident about what is a good discussion and what is not, one should do as we are encouraged to do in the Guidelines and help MyLot Admins to monitor the site by reporting obvious violations of the Guidelines. Reporting is NOT sneaking or 'grassing'. MyLot is not 'school' and Admin isn't 'the teacher'. ALL members should feel responsible for the quality of the site and understand that the 'rules' are there to promote that. Reporting a discussion merely brings it to the attention of Admin. The final decision on whether the discussion should go or stay is ALWAYS made by an expert human at MyLot, not by any individual member. All that a report does is to say "I think this is not in the spirit of MyLot" ... and, although Admin know who is reporting, of course, it is quite transparent and anonymous. I have found that, at first, it is difficult not to be annoyed (or even angered) by people who have clearly not bothered to understand what MyLot is. There have been times when I had to take time off to go and do something else simply because my brain boiled at the stupidity of some people who tried to ignore or twist the rules! It is very tempting, too, to let one's anger show by responding to such discussions. Nowadays, I mostly report something and do nothing more, though sometimes I will point out what is wrong and suggest that the member reads the Guidelines. Most people err out of ignorance and are very grateful when one points them in the right direction!

Hi there, I've not been with MyLot for long. First time i started a discussion, it was on a totally useless topic and i had no clue what to do with MyLot. But lots of my fellow MyLotters helped me out what MyLot really expects from us. My sole intention of joining this site was to make money but now i am actually enjoying it and finding it beneficial. I have realised that i will get a response to my problems and will be able to help other with their problems. I consider myself a proud member of MyLot. Happy MyLotting!

Hello skenthal, Welcome back to mylot. Let not those discussions keep you away from this site. You will always have newcomers joining in and questioning like that. There is nothing one can do about it. You will have to bare such discussions and take part in the ones you believe you can be a part of. Every one of us, some of us older lotters can always say about quality discussions, and quality discussions are nothing but original discussions. Yes, what you may find useless might be useful for the other, especially those new user discussions about this place and the earning. Although some of them are bound to get deleted i hope that others get something out of it before it gets deleted. There will always be a flow of fresh water and you can't tame it soon. Have a good day.

When I first joined I was amazed by the popularity of discussions about various parts of the body and the undergarments associated with them. Call me a prude, but I thought that it was silly. Later I realized that what is taboo in India, can be openly discussed in west. We go by our perceptions. If I find a discussion not to my liking, I just ignore it.

Basically its the money. But there are times the discussion is what people come for most of the time. But earning the money part is why people just jam pack the entire place with one sentence discussions, hoping to get something or a little cent for that. But clearly thats not gonna happen. Either way, the $10 cash out is too far. Something a one sentence a discussion style. Over the past times with mylot, I used it for some information, in time people will value the purpose for the discussions. They just might need it.

I think I posted some useless discussions too when I was a newbie. But as I read along the discussions of SOME old mylotters, I told myself that I have to make an interesting discussion too. So, I'm trying REALLY hard to think of a good one but I can seldom think of something good. Anyways, like stowyk said, we can't blame the newbies. They will learn to be professional mylotter soon.

hence why i dont start a discussion, unless i want to know something constructive. it does get boring seeing some very simular discussions day after day. the money earning is a bonus, on here. but there are some good laughs at the same time.
