Why is Choline being added to children's vitamins?

Does anyone know what the benefits of choline are, and why is it now being added to kids' vitamins. I had read it's naturally found in eggs and liver (two things my kids don't eat), but are there other natural sources for it? And why is it suddenly important enough to be added to vitamins? Any ideas?

choline can protect the liver from collecting fats and it also serves as a precursor particle for the neurotransmitter acetylcoline and a lot more. as of fast development in infants and fetuses, we really need this type of vitamins in our body. milk is an example of beverages which has a high-level of choline.
