It seems that a Florida Judge has decided to apply Shariah Law to a problem between tow groups of Muslims over money in a Mosque. The problems is the two defendants beleive in Shariah Law but want the Laws of Florida to apply.

Where do these wacky Judges come from? Should Judges have to follow US Law only when hearing a case?

According to a lawyer on the Factor Thursday evening this dispute was first settled by independent arbitration between two Muslim trustees and now the Mosque which was not in the arbitration wants to have it settled by Florida Law because they would lose under Sharia Law. The judge feel it should be settled like any contract dispute using the terms of the contract which was Sharia Law. I guess this would be like a couple getting a divorce in a non marital property state and then one partner moves to a marital property state and wants to revisit the divorce using the marital property state laws because it would be to their advantage. You have to look at the law when the dispute was settled.
What is needed is a State Law that states that disputes that originated with in the state are settled by State and Federal Law and not foreign law. An example would be the Catholic Church and their view on Marriage. You could be married in the church and then get divorced under state law yet the church could refuse to remarry either person unless they received special permission from the church. The church could not [prevent the person from getting married again under state law.

As I understand it it was an agreement between two people. To reach a decision on who is right you have to look at the original agreement. Florida, lacking a law that says you have to follow only State and Federal Laws when reaching a decision, the judge is within his power can consider the basis the agreement was formed upon. which is Sharia Law. Now if he were trying to settle the original dispute then only Florida Law should apply.
I believe that this case was settled between two people and the Mosque is now coming in and saying that they don't like the decision and want it changed because the Mosque could benefit if the case were decided under Florida Law. The Mosque was not part of the original settlement.

What hypocrits. sorry, that's all I can say right now. Sharia law is barbaric. Islam wants to impose it on the rest of the world...but here's a Islamic hypocrit wanting US LAW to save his butt some money! I feel like spitting!
