Fine, Don't LEAVE TONDO COndo (Waiting to DIE?!)

I just hate the arrogance of the Filipinos sometimes. The people who are living in this Condominium in Tondo, Manila. It's really dangerous and they don't realize this. some people left before getting the eviction notice, at least some of those people where wise enough to their safety. Not to felt cold here, but i would feel less sympathy if these people get buried alive if possible intensity 9 can occur in Manila. these people should STOP the feeling of sentimental value on a condo that is like a house of cards that's about to fall down when the earth quake strikes! Filipino people, let's all be vigilant and be ready when the Earth Quake Strikes.

That's the attitude of some Filipinos like in Libya, even there is a war they don't want to leave Libya in exchange for a big money or big salary. If I'm not mistaken, I have a brother living in that condominium before, I forgot the name but they are living now in San Jose, Bulacan. I remember now the name, Tenement? Is that right? Maybe the sentimental value of the condominium that's why it's very hard to leave the place even though that the building is not safe to stay. We pray for those people who doesn't want to leave and pray that earthquake will not be our "visitor" this year.

hi letran I can imagine some cannot leave because of money problems and if the Philippine gov. would help them relocate maybe with some funds to help with the rent and moveall I am sure a lot of people will move out before any eviction., I think money and the lack of it is what keeps some from leaving a condo thats about to collapse with any ' earthquake. The neighbors could all help if they would by offering to take them into their homes if need be. Maybe some are just stupikd'a d do not realize their danger but I w ould bet most are having problems affording to move into another place. I doubt if sentimentality has anything to do with this situation at all.

I don't really know where this is coming from to be honest with you have not been able to keep up with the news. Why are they being evicted in the first place? Is it because of the condos structural integrity? If so they should heed the warning signs and indeed be vigilant. Sentimentality should not overcome logic.

I don't want to echo what the others said about why they can't move. That is indeed a fact of life here in the Philippines. If they don't want to move then fine. The relocation site is too far, fine. But when their building comes crumbling down and their loved ones are trapped inside, they shouldn't have the audacity to blame the government for everything, not anything. It was their choice to risk their lives. What's annoying about us Filipinos is that we love complaining and we love pointing our fingers. People love blaming the government for anything bad that is happening. When the government gives them alternatives, we turn it down because it's uncomfortable. We want to get what we want, if we don't we won't listen and then blame the government for not being able to give us better options. It's the reason why we're not getting anywhere!

Well you cant really avoid this. Life is really so hard these days specially with our country. We Filipino's are ready to take risk just to have a good future for our families. Well earthquakes are very random you never know when one would really rattle you like the one that hit Japan all you can do is pray that its doesn't happen and if it ever did pray that all would be safe from harms way.

hello LK, Feel sorry for them. We have to understand their reasons, okay fine we are just concern about their safety. But,they have their reason why they just can't leave that place,it's not all about being sentimental or what,i am sure they have reason, might sounds not valid to us,but still...they have reasons. One reason i am sure is,they don't have any other place to go for while waiting for relocation...is there any relocation for them? So many reasons to be considered...let's hear from them. But of course, they should leave,it's for their safety...

Well if there is a life threatening risks, it's right not to stay at those condos that are dilapidated and not fit for dwellings. How pathetic people are hard headed risking their life. :-(

I think an esrthquake hit Japan again. low intensity but it is still an earthquake. that means ther is still a big chance of Philippines getting hit with one too. I dont think it is sentimentality that is keeping them from leaving the place but the lack of money. I hope they get to their senses and move before they lose their lives.

Some people have wishful thought with the hope that it does not happen to them. While some want to protect their belongings more so then their lives. Personally I would get out asap, my things can be replaced but not my life. I do see how some cannot afford to go, but personally I feel that there are ways to get around evacuating because I am sure there are means somehow. I would not worry about food and money, I would worry more about my safety and families safety and leave.
