Am I losing it or what?

Have you ever saved up your points on Mypoints for a particular gift card.. then when you went to redeem your gift card you found it was more than you thought it was (or maybe the cost increased while you were saving)? That happened to me today. I was certain a $50 Amazon Gift card on Mypoints cost 7,000 points. So I'd been watching my balance and saving the points until I reached that amount. I had 200 pending points, and knew that once they were no longer pending I'd have the 7,000 points to redeem my gift card. So today was the day the points became available, and I went to Mypoints to redeem my gift card.. only to find the gift card is actually 7,400 points! So now I'm back to being about 100 points short.. what the heck? Did they raise the price while I was saving the points.. or am I losing my mind? I can't tell! Has this ever happened to you?

Yes, that has happened to me before. So I contacted them to ask them about it. And they assured me the points needed to redeem what I wanted had not changed. I've also done that on another site. I could have sworn I only needed a certain amount of points, but when I went to cash in it was 300 more than I previously thought. I'm assuming I was just wrong and that they are telling the truth. I don't know...

They cut out the 5 dollar rewards like a year and a half ago. I was disappointed in that.

I am certain they raised the price of the card.. I swear it was only 7,000 last I looked.

it surely happen. it seem that they making the points out so it hard for us to reach it to redeem our rewards. it was benefit for them but for us it was a total waste and try hard again to catch it up..

This happened to me on Swagbucks once. I think that sometimes the "cost" of our rewards goes up while we are saving. I thought that Amazon card was 7100, so I do not think you are losing it, I think that they have raised the amount, maybe more than once.

Yeah.. that was my first thought too because I could have sworn it was 7,000 last I looked. But it's still cheaper than $50 to Walmart, Target, or Paypal. The only $50 cards I can get that are cheaper are to places I'd never shop at.

I like Amazon, so I will probably head that way. It still will take an awful lot of points, unless of course I do some shopping. I get my vitamins and supplements through there.

I attempt their surveys and get disqualified but get ten points there. If there is a site I will shop through anyway, I go ahead and go through MyPoints to that site. Hubby likes things from LL Bean.

I think this has happened to me on swagbucks and on mypoints, but I'm not entirely certain. I know that the Starbucks gc has gone up on mypoints...or at least I think it did, because once I was saving up for that and it felt like I had enough and then I didn't.

That hasn't happened to me yet, but I can see how it would be completely annoying. LOL AARRGGHH!! I hope you get those 400 points before too long. Why not send someone flowers from FTD.com? That'll get you 750 points, so you'll achieve your goal in one fell swoop!

If I had the money to send flowers to people for no reason I would be so concerned with earning $50 from Mypoints!

No but then I do not earn money online.Have never taken money from Mylot as yet.It is not much anyway as I do not post often. I would definitely say that you haven't lost anything as they must have raised the price while you were saving

I do what I can to earn online, and this year I'm saving it all up for this coming Christmas. Once I get my $50 Amazon card from Mypoints I will have about $100 on Amazon, as well as $20 on Paypal.. and it's not even April yet. I've only been saving since just before this last Christmas. Not as much as some people make online.. but every bit helps!

This actually happened to me not to long ago on Mypoints they raied the prices by 100 points i think on each gift card. Not to sure why they did this but i was not happy but oh well a 100 points isnt to much and i can handle it as i will always use that site and i sue the coupons like crazy when i can and it helps gain points so im all for that site.

I used to use coupons until my store told me they don't accept them anymore. Now I don't bother.

That would be very crappy and underhanded if they upped it to get less people getting them! I don't have my points or anything like that...but I would be kinda upset!

They may have upped it because of how much they have to pay for it vs. how much they're earning from their members.

Since I have been a member at mypoints I have only gotten the walmart gift cards if I remember right. The points have never changed on those that I noticed. It doesnt mean they didnt change the amounts of other things like amazon like you think they did. If you go to your account history on there it should show you I think what you have redeemed for in the past.

I dont know if they usually raise the point values for the giftcards. I personally have never had this happen to me. I usually save up my points for a very long time in order to get a large gift card. The first giftcard I got however I didnt save since I was making sure that they were a legit website. Now that I know they are legit I save my points.

I used Mypoints. And this happened to me more than once. It is really frustrating. I have pretty much given up on it because of this sort of thing.
