Do you think something will happen in 2012

My partner always said that the movie 2012 has some relevance and it is somewhat true. I never believed him and just turn deaf ears at his conversation. Now, that the earth is getting so badly affected by the natural disasters, somewhere in my mind i tend to worry about it. I am not sure what the future holds but all we can do is stay positive. I loved the movie. I don't know if I believe all the hype about 12.21.12 being the end of the world though. I do consider that the world is being affected by a lot of natural disasters but it could just be a natural process that the Earth is going through. I don't know. I do think that it is possible that the "world will end" at some point but I doubt if it will be on that specific date. I think that date might just be the end of that cycle in the Mayan calendar and it will just start over the following day. Remember Y2K? Everyone was panicking over the year 2000 and the calendars just rolled over to the new year. All the hype and panic was for nothing.

The Mayan calendar thing regarding 2012 has been debunked several times by now. And with so many disasters occurring every year throughout our lives, I don't really think I have anything more to fear than I normally would. I feel for people who are truly terrified of 2012 coming. What an awful way to live - in fear of what is going to happen next year.

I am not sure if anything will happen or not but no one is really joking about it. The thought of it is very scary and I think a lot of people are panicked because they are afraid of what they've done and want to repent. They're not sure what is going to happen either and are afraid it will be much suffering before it does happen. I try not to think about it. Part of me believes it will while another part of me believes it will not. Either way I think this is a good excuse for everyone to be a better person and STAY that way.

hi hiddenwing Might be this is the beginning, who knows? But we don't have control over such calamities, so why fear? Hi Hiddenwing, It is more like we are living in Revelation but my daughter asked me the other day if I felt 2012 was going be the end of the world and with Incas, Mayans, Eygptian as well as others having predicated this who knows. She said she would like to know as she would spend the next year having fun rather than working in a job she is not keen on and living in a house in an area that she really doesn't want to be. If it happens it happens we won't know much about it really. Just live for today and enjoy each moment as no one really knows what tomorrow may bring. Huggles. Ellie :D

You know, I will say this. The world was supposed to end so many times during history. Yet the world is still here, for all of us to say that it is going to end again. 2012 is not the last time we're going to say the world is going to end. It is really one of those things that just proves the gullibility of humanity in general. We should learn from history, but we would be doomed to repeat it again. I really think that if the world does in fact end, it is not going to end the day we think it is going to be. Its just going to be "boom, over" like that, perhaps on some random Friday, at about noon. Its not going to be this grand event. Hopefully it does not happen in our lifetime, but you never know. Nothing is forever, including the world we live in.

We really can't predict what will happen on 2012. Although they are saying that 2012 disaster was predict by Maya but what make you think that their calculation and prediction is accurate. I always told my girlfriend, we really don't know whether will happen or not but if it's really happen, then just face it since we really can do anything. Why don't we face it happily. I joke with her that we should proud because we have the chance to see this "Big Event" happen. Not every people can.

You know I keep track of the dates and I think natural disasters are increasing as we get near, maybe 2012 will already start with the most disasters, natural phenomenons and massive deaths like we never seem before...plus many religions and cults talk about it.

I am not worrying by thinking of future. I always give importance to present. We can't say that what will happen tomorrow. So we have to face all the problems that happens in our life. No guarantee for our life. Everything is in the hands of God. If He wants to destroy the world, it will happen. Nobody in this world is capable of fighting against the awful disasters. So pray to God. He will save us. No other way in front of us.

I think that 2012 is the end of the world,if this is true,what I most want to do that and his family,so you do not feel afraid,my colleagues every day talking about is the end of the world in 2012 This topic proved a major earthquake in Japan in 2012 end of the world,prophet also said that 2012 is the end of the world,I believe 2012 is the end of the world.

As to your discussion title, I would say a lot of things will happen in 2012. Anyway, a lot of things happen every day. If what you specifically refer to is what happens in 2012, I think you are making yourself paranoid. Don't. Move on with life. If you keep thinking something may happen, it might affect your everyday, the way you approach life in general. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, all your worrying and stopping life is all wasted efforts. Be kind to yourself.

everybody around me is joking about it.....it is better to hear it as a joke than to be real....though it is not funny after all. God has a plan for us. whatever it is, whenever it is. I thin his reasons are good for us. Lets be good thats all we can do for now. Lets not wait for 2012 movie to be true. LEts make our life worthwhile while we are here in earth...
