What are you most afraid of?

Haha, so tonight I went to the grocery store before heading home. I had all these bags to put away when out of the corner of my eye I saw something moving on the floor. I turned to look and see if I had dropped something and maybe the wind moving through my apartment windows blew it across the floor when I saw a mouse! I am so freaking scared of mice it's not even funny. I shrieked as it darted away. Then I had to go into the other room to calm down. I don't even know how to set a mouse trap! I was just so terrified of this and last time I saw a mouse it was dead on the floor in my boyfriend's basement. I was so scared to move around it to go upstairs that I was having a full on panic attack in his basement until he moved it for me. His mother's response was that I just need to grow up. Which got me thinking, I know that I can't be the ONLY person out there so afraid of mice. What are you most afraid of? And what kind of reaction does it cause in you?

Snakes. I'm definitely scared of snakes. Just the thought of it gives me the chill. There's one time when a small snake fell on me, oh gosh, I jumped out from where I was sitting and cried the hell out of me!

I'm with you. I'm also very afraid of snakes. My mom and I went to Japan and found out there were Pit Vipers on the Island. We made a lot of nervous jokes about them when we were there.

Snakes scare me too. Also all stinging insects. I will go running around screaming to get away from those!

Snakes are my biggest fear also. I'm ine if their in a pet store or in a zoo behind glass. If they are out of the cage or loose my heart starts pounding hard in fear. I get afraid of someone having a snake knowing that I'm afraid of them then try to put it on me to be jerks. If i know of someone with a pet snake I stay clear of that home.

SNAKES! I am really afraid of snakes as they creep me out. I always close my eyes when i see one. Even in my nightmares i get them very much. I am really damn scared of them. I would consider myself brave even if i stare at a snake picture for sometime. In zoos i have seen snakes but they mostly sleep all the time. Once when i was small i saw a hole in the ground at my grandpas place. I took a long stick and started poking that hole when suddenly i saw something that was trying to push the stick back to me. Then a long big snake came out and i wet my pants! Fortunately my grandpa saw me and managed to pull me away from the danger else i wouldn't be here mylotting about it now! Cheers!

That is scary! I'm glad that you were saved! I don't get people that want to carry rattle snake tales with them on their key-chains and stuff. Creepy. But, I'm not afraid of snakes and mice and such if they are in a cage or if it's just a picture, or a movie or anything like that. But if I saw a snake coiled up in my living room I'd be screaming my head off!

A mousetrap isn't hard to set, but you need to be careful that you don't catch yourself.

My worst fear is snakes. I do not like mice, but I can deal with them to get them out of my house. If I see a snake, I am done. I will not even go around that area, I don't care if it is big or little.

We all have phobias i guess, for me personally, i hate spiders & anything that looks like :D it sounds weird, how a man have such a phobia, but yeah, am not ashamed to admit it. I suppose your mother-in-law told you to grow up, but am 100% sure that she herself have a phobia of something, lol, because if not, than you are living with a vampire, haha, no offense, but we all have phobias, that's what i think. I guess women's phobia of mice is so obvious, even natural, because women tend to be soft & gentle, & they even bother, or better say dare, to kill a mouse, lol. Don't let her talk tease you, am sure if you put over her head a big hairy toy spider, she'll freak out, haha, after she screams, you an tell her too " Grow up ".

Haha. That would be funny. But, I think that would make my boyfriend mad. Lol He used to be VERY scared of spiders when we first got together. He never wanted to go into the basement because of it, but that was the only way I'd you know... take care of business since his house is a shotgun style house and there is no privacy. So after months of going down to the basement he got bit by a spider! And the next day he was itching at his hand and couldn't figure out what it was. I looked at it and told him is was a spider bite. "That's all they do?" He asked in shock. "Well if that's all they do, then I don't care." I told him there are more dangerous spiders out there, but he wasn't shaken the least. He had figured any spider bite would make you wither up and die or something.

I can't name any one thing I'm most afraid of as such, I have many fears. But I would have to say that one of the biggest is heights. I start to shake when I'm up very high. Water comes up a very close second.

Heights are a scary thing. As is water. But, I love swimming way to much to stay away from the water. I know when I was a kid we used to swim in and out of the ladder rungs on my grandparents pool. Our parents would yell at us for doing it, but it was so much fun. As an adult I understand the danger of it and I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night because I have a dream of getting stuck in one of those ladder rungs and no one is around to get me out!

I'm terrified of spiders. I usually scream for my husband to kill it, but if he's not home....I have just stalked it until he gets home. It seems so silly to be scared of something smaller than you, but I understand. I atually jump and scream and feel like the spiders gonna get me. The thought of one crawling on me freaks me out! I haven't seen too many mice, but when I have they will certainly keep you up at night. Your not the only one!

My boyfriend used to be scared of spiders until one bit him and then he wasn't afraid anymore because it was lots less than he expected. I was never afraid of spiders, but I got bit by one about a month ago and the sore still has not totally healed so I'm freaked out about them now.

I feel your pain. I cannot stand spiders. I have a bug man on retainer. He comes once a month, winter or fall. My husband calls it alimony. He hates that I pay him every month but that is just how I am. And, snakes, will not even talk about snakes, cannot watch a movie with snakes. Glad I live in Utah, only tiny black garden snakes in the city here. I have the bug man take care of those also.

Lol... I poisoned the mouse. My boyfriend tried to get me to set a regular mouse trap, but that was too good for the bugger. So I full on bough a whole bunch of poison and left it all over my house. It took a few weeks but it worked finally. As far as I can tell I'm now mouse free!

Aside from being afraid of deadly diseases I am afraid of worms. I know it sounds silly. I had a bad experience with worms when I was little. It had just stopped raining and I had gone to a friend's house for a picnic. Me and my friends were sitting around the picnic table. The grass was damp from the rain and I was wearing sandals and shorts. No socks of course. I felt this slimey feeling moving up my leg. I looked down and there was this really long worm crawling up my leg! I freaked out and ever since then I cannot stand worms! When it rains and I am walking on the sidewalk and there are a ton of worms out I just get this tingly feeling and I keep walking quickly to try and avoid stepping on them. I just feel jumpy and I want to run to get away from them as soon as I can, it is weird!

I'm not very scared of flys or butterflys either. But, flys are annoying for me. I hate that. But, other insects are not my favorite to be around. Especially when you can hear the buzz of them flying.

I'm terrified of snakes. I used to have nightmares about them all the time as a child. I was camping this summer and saw a garden snake curled up on a log a foot away from my tent. I just stood frozen not knowing what to do. Finally I threw something at it and it went away. Luckily I somehow forgot about it for the rest of the trip. I do a lot of nature walks and hiking. Sometimes if I see something like a tree root or stick out of the corner of my eye I'll flinch thinking it was a snake. Just two days ago I was walking home at 11pm through the graveyard to my house. There was a branch on the ground and it was dark. I totally jumped thinking it was a snake when I saw it. I have a friend who is terrified of moths.

Oh My Gosh! That is so scary. The big thing about snakes is that some are poisonous and some are not and you never know what you have. When I was a kid there were snakes all over by our house because we lived in the country by the woods. We got to be really good at identifying poisonous snakes and those that weren't over the years. One day my youngest brother (age 4 at the time) came galloping into the house holding a tiny snake by it's neck and it's tail. He was so proud of himself till my dad saw it and grabbed it and stabbed it with a knife. We were all staring in shock for a moment until we looked closer and realized he had be carrying a baby copperhead. And baby snakes have something like 7 times more venom in them than the parents. It was a sobering thought to think what a baby snake could have done to a baby boy like that.

As for me I am afraid of cockroaches. They are so gross that I won't even dare killing them. I don't pity them either. It's just that I don't really like the thing that comes out of its body when killed.

I'm also terrified with mice but what I'm most afraid of is being failing just because I didn't try hard enough. I've always been the easy-go-lucky type but I know someday I have to abandon the attitude. I know it's not gonna get me anywhere. I'm actually trying to change it right now.

Maintaining a little bit of the 'happy-go-lucky' mentality is good! You just need to balance it. Also, take it from a person who has been there, you have to be REALLY careful what kind of people you allow into your life when you are like that. A lot of people out there want to be friends, room mates, lovers, with an easy going person because it's so much easier to take advantage of them. And that is what makes easy going people fail most in this world than anything else.

Yeah, did you know that house lizards have salmonella on their underside? I had a friend that was very attached to a pet lizard that she had, but when she found out she was pregnant her doctor told her to get rid of it because of that. She was sad to see it go, but she said it was so creepy to find out that they have salmonella because she is a germ freak and would never have known otherwise.

Yep, mice is the big one for me. I grew up in a mobile home in the country and it seemed we were infested with mice all the time. But, as an adult, no matter how dirty my house got it always seemed to be mouse free. So, the only two times I've seen a mouse as an adult would be at my boyfriends and at this new apartment. And my boyfriend is trying to preach the virtues of humane mouse traps that kill quickly, but then I'd get mouse blood on me! I'm so confused.

I am affraid of bees .The fact that they sting you and the noise they make is very scary
• United States
26 Mar 11
I don't like bees or wasps very much. Wasps scare me more because they don't die after they stink you. Whereas a lot of bees do. One time when I was a teenager our church decided it was such a beautiful day that we should go outside for our worship serve. One of the men in the church got up to share a Bible story of some sort and he was all teary eyed over it. When suddenly a wasp landing in my lap. I didn't even stop to think or anything. I jumped up and down screaming and flailing my arms about wildly. Until it flew away. Then I realized that everyone was staring at me in an odd way. Thankfully after I told them what happened the speaker started laughing and hugged me. "I thought you were full of the spirit or something." he told me.
