If used the way it was intended it certainly is helpful. Where else can we go virtually for free and learn so many new and exciting cultures and nations if not with the social networking services.
Understandable that many misuse for fictious purposes, but it is ultimately up to us to safe guard our privacy.

Hi,anepal!
Yeah,I do believe so.If not with WikiLeaks and Facebook, there may not be any revolution in Tunisia.Social networking sites provide the people a chance to communicate and see the true nature of their government. It is also a great ground for people to gather together and exchange documents and information.Although some governments are blocking some certain social networking sites, people can always manage to get through. It's a perfect way to promote democracy and fight against bureaucracy.Although people do need to be cautious about the online information since it can be fake one.

Yes!! Hello Anepal. We were living our lives alone. Each world citizen was living her/his own life. With socialnetworking we are not more alone! The mass media doesn´t control anymore our communications. This is great. Blessings!... Dainy

Of course it is speedy communication is essential for organising anything of that scale and to be able to react to changing events.Anyway if it wasnt why would colonel gaddafi cut off the internet since the rebellion.

Well it is making it easier for people to talk. So it is going to make it easier to coordinate and really trade news. So it is going to lead to people getting more ideas in a quicker manner. This day, it is hard to really keep people from communicating if they really want to. The Internet is really a grand tool leading to a lot in the world.
I think the real revolution is the Internet bringing more people closer together, allowing them to coordinate their efforts more easily. Therefore, it is going to lead to them spurring change. Really when you think about it, social networking is the revolution and what is going on in the world could have been strengthened as a byproduct of it. Not really the only thing but it pays no small part.
