So,I am currently on an out-of-town trip on vacation with my family and we were at the airport waiting for our flight. When I noticed there are a bunch of really tall and quite handsome guys walking towards our waiting area. A lot of people where looking at them with smile on their faces as if they know them. So I took a second look and I recognized they are famous basketball players in my country and we will be sharing the flight with them. Some people took pictures with them while some just smile in recognition.
If you saw a celebrity, do you usually fuss over them and take the chance for a photo opportunity or just look at them and just treat them as ordinary people? In the first place, have you seen a celebrity in person already?

I am used to seeing celebrities, as I was a celebrity before.
But kidding aside, I am not that kind of person who gets thrilled seeing celebrities.
It could be my personality,
Or it could be that I used to mingle with friends from broadcasting industries.
Even when we were in Manila and had to shoot for a TV program.
I treat the celebrities as normal people too.
Just like most of us.

No I'm not a part of the production team sweet_pea, I am actually in the supporting role.
A TV program in Manila helped us find an institution for my son's surgery.
HE had a sleep apnea for 3 years. His tonsils were large that caused his breathing stop if he gets to sleep. He snores too loud, one sign of sleep apnea.
So the program took shots of our place, how our son sleeps, found the hospital and helped us get the surgery for free.
We shot for the program for almost 3 months, from Cebu to Bulacan to Manila...

What program was that? I'm suddenly curious.
I hope your son is okay now. Is he that one on your avatar?
How old was he when he was diagnosed? I also have a son and I know how you feel seeing him sick. I'm happy you got the surgery for free, it can be really pricey.
But as a parent I know we would do everything just to keep our children okay.

Have you been part of a production team Neil?
Yeah, I think if you are used being around celebrities, you really wouldn't be that star-struck with them. You treat them just ordinary beings.

Hi there sweet pea!
I have seen lots of celebrities nut they're not of my genre so I didn't mind them that much.
My reaction would be different depending on the place where I saw them. In case it's in the airport, I would just smile and be happy to see them and not to take pictures with them. But if it's a public place, might take a picture with that celebrity.

Is an airport not a public place?
I never had a picture with a celebrity as far as I can remember.
I only look at them out of curiosity but I leave them in peace.
To me they are just like us, only that they are more famous.

Thanks for the clarification Adnileb!
I guess if it were a public engagement they have to attend to we can really ask them for autographs, pictures, hand shakes or even a kiss!
Which celebrity if you have the opportunity to meet will you want to take pictures with.

Hello Sweet_pea,
Last year, I had my first flight journey to my native place for attending a marriage. When reaching the airport in destination, there was one film shooting and I have seen many famous celebrities. They all were busy with their work. We watched the same sometime there then we left for our house. I respect them but I don’t get fuss over them.

I'm sure you have seen a lot of celebrities in your country. Hey it's Bollywood, I shouldn't be surprised at all.

Hi,
If i were to meet my favourite star, of course
I would grab the chance to ask for his/her signature and
also take a photo with him/her.
It was a rare chance and I have to make use of it.
So far, I never met any celebrities when I was out and hope
one day , I will have that good chance.

I have seen a celebrity before. Last year, the day after Christmas (we call it boxing day in Canada) I saw Justin Bieber shopping with his Dad and I think his step mom. I wasn't really able to get a picture since there was a huge mob of girls following him, but the fact that I saw him was really cool, just because he is a really famous kid!

Wow! You have seen Justin Bieber! My 4 year old son sings his songs!
It is really, really cool to see a very, very famous celebrity.
Although I hope you didn't get hurt with the mob.
I know some celebrities have their own personal shopper who does the shopping for them so as to avoid such mobs.

Yes, his Dad lives in my city so people I know have seen him around quite a few times.. It was definitely cool for me, I don't live in the best/biggest city ever or anything, so for Justin Bieber to be shopping at our mall was really surprising.

It is nice to know that he still go to places where ordinary people go.
Most stars nowadays usually buy at high end stores.

yeah I've seen a few. my dad has met a lot because he used to film commericals and he definitely made a big deal about it. I saw Chrisitana Agualara and Kenan from Kenan and Kel quite a few years back when they were rehearsing for SNL. It was a 30 Rock tour thing and the tour guide said it was rare for us to be seeing an actual taping. I also saw Joel Madden in a very close room being interviewed before a show. Plus I was on the set of Dan in Real Life and saw Dane Cook, Steve Carell and some other people on set, one girl is now on a show I loved called Life Unexpected, oh and the star of Chocolate which I never saw. The closest I got to talking to any of them is when my dad had a minute chat with Dane Cook about a mutual friend, and the hello I said to the woman from Chocolate.

Are you referring to Christina Aguilera? If she was, it must have been really great seeing her in a rehearsal. She is quite a good performer I must say. Where you able to get some souvenirs like autographs or pictures with them?

Yeah I mean her. I only saw about a minute of them filming, mostly then waving to us during their break. No we didn't get any of that, I don't really like autographs anyway, maybe baseball players that are worth a lot of money lol. I guess it would be a good excuse just to see a celebrity though, to get an autograph.

Hi. sweet_pea. I think that I would just melt into pieces if I ever was to see a famous celebrity! I have seen Da Brat and The Lost Boyzs in concert before. It was wonderful, but this was about 12 years ago. If I saw an celebrity. I would smile and blush, if it was a guy. And if it was a female, I would smile and speak to her. If they are all giving out any autographs, I will make sure that I get a signature too.

I think that we get excited if we really see some celebrities that we really like. We really can't help ourselves to approach them for a photo ops. It's not everyday that you get to see stars so we might as well take that chance to do so.

Hi seet pea: I have seen some celebrities: Keane! One of my favorite bands on earth and I simply go crazy. I ask for autographs, I have fun, I feel nervous but this was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. But this was because I really admire these musicians, specially Tim who is the pianist and the writer of most of their songs. My reaction would depends on the type of celebrity that is in front of me. I know they're persons like us but at the same time I love their work and that's what make them special.

Yeah, I think it would depend upon the celebrity that we would see. Our reactions would be different if we see someone that we really don't admire from someone that we are a fan of.
Glad you were able to meet your favorite band!

I must be very lucky. On our way back home at the airport, we also saw some local stars who just had a recent show and were on their way home. Unfortunately, they are in the VIP lounge and didn't see them further.

It's so much fun to run into famous people, isn't it?
I have seen several celebrities over the years, when I lived in Washington, DC, and when I worked in NYC. If I saw/met them in a place where they were looking for publicity, then I would ask for a picture or autograph. However, if I just saw someone famous walking on the street, or on the subway, or even in the audience of a play, I would just smile at them or talk to them as if they were anybody else. Not sure what I would do if I bumped into Johnny Depp, though--probably the picture route, with me in it!

So we got a Johnny Depp fan here!
Yes it is! It is not everyday that I get to bump famous people.
It is nice to see them in the flesh and not just in the boob tube.
I agree, if it was a public engagement I suppose you can approach and have pictures or autographs with them but if they are just trying to be like one of us, I leave them be.

On our way home at the airport, we even saw some local stars who just had a show and were on their way home to the capital. My eyes had just a feast. I never had been close to so many celebrities. I was such a fan, I started taking pictures of them. My husband was quite irritated, that if I really wish to see them, he suggested that we can just go watch their shows.

i will go to them and take a picture with them as a memory for ourself. as we know that, we rarely have the opportunity to meet such celebrity in our life because of their busy life doing their own job.
well, if i have such opportunity, then why couldn't we go and take a picture and take a photograph as a memory?
maybe next time in future, we can show it to our grandson saying that "i have meet our famous celebrity at somewhere ....".

Yeah rarely do we meet stars in person, so we might as well take that chance to take pictures of them and show them to our family and friends. Some would do it so they can post it in Facebook for everyone to see.

Hi there,
I consider myself really lucky to have met Oprah when she came here in Melbourne. I went there with my friends are we all were like really happy. She has always been an inspiring figure for me and everything she does touches my heart. The crowd was so big that we had to squeeze our way to the front but it was an amazing moment for me.

Wow you've seen Oprah! She is really good at inspiring people. I really hope that there are more celebrities who will use their fame in helping other less fortunate people. I really admire Sandra Bullock who donated 1 million dollars each to the victims in Haiti and recently in Japan.

I tend to go the other way if there is a celebrity nearby. I don't like the fuss of people milling around.
And if it were out in public, and the celebrity was doing his or her own thing, then I wish people would twice before going to them. They might not appreciate all the fuss.
